About us

You set up a business because you’re passionate about what you do or produce. That's your skillset. That should be what you're doing. But as you've grown you’ve got all this other stuff to consider: employing people, managing them and picking up the pieces when it doesn’t go to plan. All that takes your focus away from what you're really good at. And this is where Mint HR comes in. We work with business owners and people managers to make sure that everything people related is run for the good of the business – to make you an employer of choice, to keep issues to a minimum and to make everything run smoothly. If you need help with your people matters, need an employee handbook or just need someone to sound off to about those niggling employee problems then please get in touch with the team here at Mint HR. Confusing, overwhelming and scare-mongering. That's how many (mainly the large, I must add) HR companies are communicating on the new Employment Right's Bill. But I'm here to change all that! Join me for a FREE workshop at the Wakefield Expo next Wednesday the 26th March where I'll be providing a 30 minute whistle-stop tour of all you need to know about the Bill at this stage. It wont be scary and it wont be boring - but it will be important if you're an SME who employs people. Use this link to book before there's a stampede and it's a sell-out! https://lnkd.in/ejk68hPT Mint HR | Outsourced HR Support #HRadvice #Wakefieldbusinesses #Yorkshirebusinesses

Bespoke graphic design solutions for print and digital

Excited to share some recent work that COPPERWIRE CREATIVE LTD completed for Tracy Carpenter and Kate Gavaghan from Mint HR | Outsourced HR Support. We were asked to update their pull-up banners which had been used for a number of years to a fresh design and printed on our premium banner cassettes. Another highlight and a first for us, we also designed and sourced branded mints. Are you going to an upcoming show where Tracy will be handing these out? Hopefully they will go down really well! If you need help with your exhibition graphics and branded merchandise, please get in touch!

My body is broken - but my heart is full. Yesterday, Team Mint HR | Outsourced HR Support was out of office for our annual volunteering day at the amazing Cash for Kids - Mission Christmas warehouse HQ. We sorted boxes, stacked gifts, filled and lugged sacks all day long. And in that one day - and with the help of the other volunteers - we have ensured over one thousand deprived kids will get not just one but several presents to open on Christmas morning. These are kids who, without the amazing work of Lisa Sullivan and her team, would get nothing. The charity has literally thousands and thousands of referrals still to go - so please spread some Christmas joy and donate if you can. More details in comments below. These photos was taken at the end of the day - and look, we are still smiling! It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas....

  • In the run up to Christmas party season, don't forget the new statutory duties introduced in October means employers must provide extra protection to workers from sexual harassment. Work parties are often booze-fuelled and we know that as an employer you can’t control everything your employees do - but you can and should make your stance clear in advance. Here are Mint's key tips to ensure a safe and respectful environment: ✅ Make sure the venue/Christmas party provider will comply with the statutory duty as this applies to sexual harassment by third parties too ✅ Communicate clear expectations to teams before the event ✅ Offer a contact for any pre or post-event concerns ✅ Make it clear in advance that you will take any inappropriate behaviour seriously and it won’t be tolerated ✅ Consider what you’re giving for free – if it’s a free bar or drinks vouchers – are you encouraging excessive drinking? If so, the finger may be pointed at you if someone gets overly drunk and acts improperly ✅ Lead by example as a manager, both in and out of work ✅ Remember, all work related events are an extension of the workplace ✅ Ensure all attendees have safe transportation home ✅ Follow up with attendees for any post-event concerns ✅ Address any reported concerns promptly and effectively ✅ And while ensuring a safe environment, please don't forget to enjoy your festive celebrations If your Employee Handbook or policies do not cover sexual harassment it's crucial to update them now. Mint HR can help you with this as well as help with team comms and responding to a report or concern. Email Tracy@mint-hr.com or call 0113 8630011 for more information.
