HSL Compliance

We are delighted to announce that HSL Compliance has acquired Lancashire-based fire and air compliance specialist, RJ Urmson Group. The move expands our expertise into fire and air ventilation safety and compliance services for the first time. This is a complementary service to our existing market leading water safety offering. This transaction is our third acquisition in 12 months, after acquiring Chemical Treatment Services in August 2023 and Plexus Innovation in January 2024, taking our headcount to more than 500. R J Urmson Group was founded in 1992 by Robert and Louise Urmson, incorporated in 2005 and provides ventilation validation, commissioning, water treatment and passive fire services to clients across the UK from its Chorley, Lancs headquarters. Robert Urmson, Managing Director of R J Urmson, said: “It’s brilliant to mark our 32nd year by joining forces with the team at HSL Compliance. Our combined knowledge and capabilities will benefit our Urmson clients, many of whom have been with us since the beginning, as well as providing great opportunities to our dedicated employees. “As a family we are proud to have built R J Urmson Group from a small start-up into a successful family-run business. HSL Compliance share our values and ambitions and, with their support, we’re excited to start an exciting new chapter for the company and continue to grow in partnership.” Following the acquisition, Robert, alongside his daughter, Christina Urmson, will continue to lead the running of the Urmson Group and the company will continue to operate under its existing branding. Today we are celebrating 15 years with Mike Fox! Mike joined us back in 2009 and has progressed through the business to his current role as Account Supervisor within our Healthcare department! Mike is a fantastic member of the team, and his colleagues were more than happy to congratulate him on his milestone anniversary! Chris Clubb "I have had the pleasure of working alongside Michael during my years at HSL and he has never failed in providing words of encouragement and witty remarks to keep spirits up. I first met Mike when I started at HSL nearly 13 years ago, where we worked on the tools together. Mike was always there to help out and ensure you were up to speed on what was required to complete works correctly and compliantly. Mike has always been a continuous driver of those that he works alongside, known for his words of encouragement and using his charm to ensure you are working to the best of your ability. The commitment that Mike has shown to the business and myself over the years is testament to him and his character. Most recently he has been paramount in supporting our Healthcare region, utilising his knowledge and skills in a challenging work environment to deliver compliance at its highest level. It has been an absolute delight to work with Mike over the years, a sentiment I know that is reflected by the entire team and business. Some great before and after photos from a recent tank replacement project at a leisure centre in North Wales, carried out by Dave Lawrie and Paul Nelson. The work involved providing a temporary bypass whilst the original tank was disconnected and removed. A new TIF tank was supplied and installed by Tricel Water Storage. Dave and Paul then reconnected all existing service and removed the bypass pipework. Excellent job by all involved! #tankreplacement #waterstorage
