About us
HUB is a progressive developer creating living places, ensuring that communities can thrive, now and into the future. Established in 2012, HUB has over 8,800 homes completed or under development across the UK, with a focus on transformative and high-quality living schemes, from BTR-led regeneration to building adaptation and retrofit in city centres. A pioneer of BTR in the UK, HUB is known for developing one of London’s first institutionally backed BTR schemes. It continues to deliver industry-leading developments, including the award-winning Queen’s Quarter in Croydon and the Yardhouse co-living scheme at Wood Lane, in partnership with Women’s Pioneer Housing. Other major current projects include One Maidenhead, a major mixed-use scheme in Maidenhead town centre; Cornerstone, an office-to-co-living conversion neighbouring London’s Barbican estate; the BTR-led redevelopment of a disused 4.5 acre site adjacent to Bath city centre; and the creation of 951 BTR homes at its Latitude schemes to the west of Leeds city centre. Proven by its decade-long track record of repeat partnerships with funders and operators, and positive post-occupancy surveys, HUB puts people at the centre of design and builds strong relationships with local communities and partners through collaboration, delivering high quality residential and mixed use schemes that create long-lasting positive impact.

We're delivering Trehus in partnership with Smedvig a Norwegian family office with a track record of building in timber in Norway, as part of the #OneMaidenhead masterplan. 🌳 Trehus is different, uniquely the only timber-framed office in the Thames Valley, designed to appeal to a sustainability-conscious tenant who will attract a high quality workforce to Maidenhead town centre with the high #ESG credentials of this building 💚 Trehus is designed to enhance the wellbeing of occupants with natural finishes, a roof terrace, cycle parking and showers, proximity to the station and amenities of the town centre. The number of local authorities planning to develop BTR schemes has tripled since 2017—and for good reason. BTR can drive housing-led regeneration by creating and expanding vibrant neighbourhoods, while also stimulating investment and economic growth. It also plays a crucial role in unlocking affordable housing delivery through joint ventures with housing associations and local authorities. With the Government’s ambitious housing targets, the quicker our sector can collectively deliver high-quality homes, the better for everyone. I recently spoke with Estates Gazette, alongside other BTR industry leaders, about the challenges and opportunities facing BTR. Despite these challenges, and while there is plenty of work still to come, I remain optimistic that the ‘puzzle pieces’ will continue to fall into place, aided by planning reforms that are helping to unlock land and address the housing shortage. We recently published a report, ‘Build to Rent – The Catalyst for Urban Renewal’, which calls on both the industry and the Government to use BTR-led regeneration to help meet the UK’s housing needs. I’m looking forward to carrying on this conversation with leaders from across the UK housing sector next week in Cannes. I recently spoke about HUB’s journey to Adam Hinds and Jordan Relfe MRICS of LifeProven ESG Property Company, as part of their excellent Podcast. I think we still have a long way to go, but the conversation made me reflect on our mission and the challenges we have faced. Fourteen years ago, HUB set out to deliver homes for people who need them and this focus remains our North Star today. The “Spirit of HUB” also continues to be entrepreneurial, innovative, inquisitive and questioning of the orthodoxy. Simply put, we constantly seek to evolve and differentiate. Many thanks to Adam and Jordan for inviting me on!
The best developers don’t just build homes—they reshape cities for the long term. In this episode of The ESG in Property Podcast, we sit down with Robert Sloss, CEO of HUB, to break down how HUB is delivering Build-to-Rent, regeneration, and large-scale urban projects that create lasting impact. → Lessons from market cycles – How downturns shape investment strategies and why short-term thinking is a risk. → Unlocking tricky sites – Why some developments stall and how HUB works with investors, local authorities, and communities to move them forward. → Sustainability vs. viability – What it takes to balance commercial returns with environmental and social responsibility. → The future of housing – How Build-to-Rent and co-living are evolving and what this means for UK cities. With over 9,000 homes completed or under development, HUB is leading major regeneration projects across the UK—from Queen’s Quarter in Croydon to Latitude in Leeds and One Maidenhead. Listen now for an inside look at how real estate investment, development, and ESG come together to shape the next generation of urban living. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eh-qS-Ds #ESG #RealEstate #BuildToRent #UrbanRegeneration #Housing #Sustainability #Investment #PropertyDevelopment #Podcast

"Scotland's solution to England's housing woes" Our MD Damien Sharkey shares his thoughts in Construction News on how to balance the need to ensure building safety with development certainty, to allow the delivery of much-needed homes... Damien suggests looking at alternative ways to guarantee the safety of our buildings without stalling development. He cites Scotland’s Building Warrant system, which has a staged approach to submitting design information, and asks BSR to clarify its decision timelines to help developers plan ahead. #progressivedeveloper #regeneration #buildingsafety #bsa #bsr #housingdelivery https://lnkd.in/dgFXFsmB
