I’m so excited to share that Forbes has named me one of its 30 Under 30 entrepreneurs for my work on Humble Crumble.
As a kid, I dreamed about what I wanted for my future. I’d lie on my bed, and in my mind, I’d make a vision board on the ceiling. The main thing on my board was being part of the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ List. I’m not entirely sure why it was an ambition of mine, but I guess when you’re dreaming, you think that anything is possible. I have to say, I never actually thought I’d make the list. I’m pretty scattered, not very confident in my communication skills, and naturally shy. All the things that I thought an entrepreneur wasn’t.
But I had an ambitious idea - to start the world’s first crumble bakery. That idea has been one big rollercoaster and during the first two years of the business and a pandemic, I thought many times about closing it down.
However, I didn’t close, and I decided to continue on. That’s when most of you on this platform found out about Humble Crumble and decided to support my business - which I am so grateful for.
I’ve also had so much help with the business - especially my team. I tell you that moving from a 2x2m stall in Old Spitalfields Market to three fully-fledged bakeries (and a fourth on the way) within four years has been challenging (but also so rewarding).
This isn’t something that I’ve achieved on my own, so thank you again from the bottom of my heart for making my childhood dream come true and big thank you especially to my partner and HC’s Commercial Director Gabriel Unger, HC’s first employee & now Head of Ops Lucy Thomas our Social Media Manager Chloe Fagence, all the Managers of our bakeries and the team as a whole. Humble Crumble is a collection of wonderful minds and hearts coming together to learn, innovate and have fun. Together, we have grown this idea into a successful business.
