🌏 Reflecting on an inspiring week in Jakarta, where the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance (HSA) team conducted an Accredited Assessor training to 16 professionals from Indonesian hydropower developers and consulting firm from 21-25 October. Our participants immersed themselves in a comprehensive curriculum on the #HydropowerSustainabilityStandard, exploring the principles, requirements, best practices for advancing sustainable hydropower. We are one year old today! ✨ The Hydropower Sustainability Alliance was officially launched on this day, 31 October, at the 2023 World Hydropower Congress in Bali, Indonesia. As we pass this milestone, it's time to reflect on the progress we have made together towards a hydropower sector that fuels progress, protects nature and empowers communities: 🌱 9 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 across 4 continents have been certified under the hydropower Sustainability Standard, with a further 4 projects currently under public consultation 🎓 356 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 have attended our training events across the year, becoming equipped with essential hydropower sustainability knowledge and tools 🌐 3 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 have committed to embed principles of the Hydropower Sustainability Standard into national policy 👥 17 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 have joined our multi-stakeholder governance council, ensuring that our work continues to driven by consensus and shaped by a diverse range of perspectives Read more about our journey so far: https://lnkd.in/eCu8J6T5 #Hydropower #Sustainability #SustainableHydropower

🌍 Invitation: Regional Workshop on Enhancing #Sustainability & #ProjectBankability in Central Asia 🌍   We are excited to invite you to the Regional Workshop on the Hydropower Sustainability Standard in Central Asia, taking place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 29-30 October 2024.   This workshop is a collaboration between the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance (HSA), the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tauz Hydro, Pamir Energy, TGEM, International Hydropower Association (IHA) with support from the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).   🔋 Why Attend? Central Asia possesses immense hydropower potential, making it a key player in addressing the region's growing energy demand and driving sustainable economic development. However, it is crucial that this potential is harnessed sustainably, minimizing environmental and community impacts.
