Point of Culture #10 - Fun. Fun is part of every event, every meeting and our daily work lives because we don’t just put posters on the wall, we live the words. Having Fun at work shouldn't feel forced or engineered. But, it's not always easy to blend into the existing culture within any company. Here are 3 ways that your workplace can be made a little more 'fun-friendly'. 1. Create a space where people can go to chat and spend time together without the pressures of work. Giving your team members this kind of space could lead to increased communication and relationship building within the team. 2. Become a 'Pet Friendly' business. This isn't always possible in an office environment, but the owners I deal with who allow pets into their workplace agree that they reduce stress and promote a more positive mindset within their team. I've carried out Zoom sesions when new members of the team (dogs, rabbits, even a snake!) have taken centre stage in Zoom meetings. It lightens any type of conversation. 3. Team lunches. Just getting the team together in an informal setting over lunch is a brilliant way of understanding your team members in a more informal setting, as long as the topics of conversation aren't solely work related!
