As proud supporters of Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) we’re helping them spread awareness of the devastating reality of youth suicide in the UK. In the last decade, 6,929 young people in the UK have taken their own lives. It’s a stat that underlines a devastating truth: so many young lives are ending when they should just be beginning. Right now, suicide is the most common cause of death for those under 24. Together we can END youth suicide. Richard Walker OBE, Iceland Foods Executive Chairman and Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation Chairman, Tarsem Dhaliwal, Group Chief Executive of Iceland Foods and Trustee of Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation and Iceland Ambassador, Josie Gibson met with Simon Gunning, CEO of CALM and Wendy Robinson, Director of Services at CALM to discuss the issue. Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation has raised £38 million to date and our mission is to make life better for people.
About us
Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF) has donated an incredible £38 million to date. The Foundation has been in existence since 1973 as we have always been committed to raising funds for good causes. In 2013 we gave the Foundation a public face to help recognise the achievements of our colleagues and customers and to make it easier for people to support us. This is the IFCF we know today, and you will see in Iceland and The Food Warehouse Stores. Our mission is simple and clear: we want to make life better for people. That’s why we raise money and awareness for good causes - and because we believe it’s simply the right thing to do. At IFCF we have four core focus areas where we try to make a significant difference. Over the years we have also supported several fantastic causes and organisations. Our core areas are dementia, wellbeing, environment and children related charities. We are proud to represent our charity partners as we are stronger together!

Have you seen the Emoji poster in Iceland Foods stores? We're proud to support The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood Business Taskforce Panel! ❣️
How can businesses use the Shaping Us Framework to promote conversations about social and emotional development? The framework describes social and emotional skills in a clear way which can inform and inspire action. In our Business Taskforce report, we highlight strengthening social and emotional development as one of the opportunities for impact to improve the economy. The Iceland Foods #Emoji posters are a brilliant example of how businesses can foster conversations between customers and young children to create a space of understanding in stores. The posters are at a child friendly height and act as a practical tool to help customers with young children, reaching 5 million customers every week. 📹 Watch the video in full here: https://lnkd.in/e7rkTUbS Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation

A truly amazing achievement! 👏 We're extremely proud to support the Rare Dementia Support Centre and excited to see the world's first specialist centre for people with rare dementias ! 🙌 ❣️ The National Brain Appeal Rare Dementia Support Richard Walker OBE Iceland Foods #Dementia #RareDementias #CharitySupport #MakeLifeBetterForPeople #DoingitRight
This Rare Disease Day, we’re celebrating Rare Dementia Support’s ninth birthday and the incredible achievement of reaching our fundraising goal for the new Rare Dementia Support Centre! Thanks to remarkable generosity, our original goal has been surpassed. Incredibly, over £9m has been raised for the world’s first specialist centre for people with rare dementias. The extra funds will support the new UCL-led centre’s ongoing costs and the running of the RDS service. Among others, we would like to thank The Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation, The Wolfson Foundation and Rosetrees for their generosity, as well as a range of supporters who took on challenges, held gala dinners, hosted community fundraisers, and donated so successfully. Thanks to your support, this permanent home for RDS will become a reality. Our chief executive, Claire Wood Hill says, “We have been delighted to fundraise for the world’s first Rare Dementia Support Centre. We are very grateful to everyone who has made donations and shown incredible commitment to fundraising to help us to make this vital centre a reality. The Rare Dementia Support Centre really will transform the lives of people affected by these devastating conditions.” Discover how this world-first centre will change lives - and when it will open https://lnkd.in/ePnb7m4y

We're extremely proud of this partnership and what we have achieved together! 💪 ☺️ Let's keep #BreakingTheIce and starting life-saving conversations and help end #YouthSuicide! Campaign Against Living Miserably Richard Walker OBE Iceland Foods #MentalHealthMatters #MakeLifeBetterForPeople #WorkingTogether #CharitySupport
We’re really proud of the impact our Missed Birthdays campaign has had in showing how everyone can play their part in helping end youth suicide. But, the truth is, this type of work is only possible when you have the best partners - so it’s time to say a massive thanks to Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation. Their shopping list of support is quite something: from funding the Missed Birthdays installation in Westfield and their support in the creation of Evelyn’s story, through to their role as founding partner of the C.A.R.E. Kit, their support has been (literally) life-saving. 💚 Together, we’ve helped reach thousands of people with life-saving suicide prevention advice, and kickstarted vital conversations around mental health.
