As a CDM Principal Designer, we just do desktop work and don’t get involved?. Not at iM2 ltd, to understand the design risk, we have to understand the environment and the details. Cue being sent on a High-Risk Confined space course, so we could enter the space to carry out the Pre-Construction Information visit and get a real understanding of the foreseeable and significant hazards that will be in play. So in the past 2 months, I’ve been on water to get further understanding how a dive support vessel operates to assist in compiling a PCI and now underground in a complex tunnel, don’t think I want to know what’s next! #CDM #PrincipalDesigner #HealthandSafetyManagement #projectmanagment #UKConstruction #construction

Ian and Alan will be providing PD Advisor services and supporting me in my design role. we undertook a site walk and discussed approach and strategy going forward. Lots of good discussions on how we can eliminate risks, cleaning and plant replacements, access and maintenance, including collaborating with the wider project teams. We are delighted to have been appointed by British Sugar to deliver the New Front of House Facility at the Bury St. Edmunds manufacturing site.   As a Suffolk based main contractor, we are proud to have worked on a number of iconic local sites and landmarks, particularly when they play such an important role in supporting the local economy. The New Front of House Facility replaces the existing prefabricated accommodation, providing a large, modern building which will include a new reception area, office and meeting rooms as well as staff welfare facilities.   The superstructure masonry is progressing, and the first-floor hollowcore concrete planks are set to be installed at the end of the month – we can’t wait to share our progress on this exciting project where we are working in collaboration with REAL Consulting LLP, Fabric First Architects Ltd, Rossi Long Consulting, and iM2 ltd. The services installation is being undertaken by CPS Building Services Ltd and their designers Sharman Grimwade Ltd.
