Imminent Change....
IMMINENT CHANGE Those of us frustrated by the short-termism of how we design and build infrastructure welcome the first speech by the new Chancellor of the Exchequer today to tackle "decisions deferred and decisions ducked" to get infrastructure and building moving again. In particular: - Review of the National Planning Policy Framework - 1.5 million new homes in 5 years - Priority to energy projects (including removing the ban on onshore wind) - Un-stalling of various housing and data centre projects - Review of greenbelt boundaries As she said: "If the answer is always no, we will continue as we are." It is possible to create infrastructure that is good for people and planet. Imminent has a history of implementing imminent change in the design and build sectors. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we could help you grasp the new opportunities - challenging procurement - rethinking planning - embedding modern methods of design and construction.
