Corporate Finance & Sustainability Advisor | Helping businesses and communities thrive responsibly

A big thank you to Theo Gendarme, Greenly | Certified B Corp team and Impact Hub London for an insightful conversation last week on the pressing regulatory environment for ESG reporting. We discussed the challenges around data quality and availability, as well as the importance of knowing and supporting clients AND suppliers along this journey. It’s also fantastic to see that large financial institutions like HSBC are actively promoting sustainability awareness, going beyond simply offering reduced interest on green loans. Thanks to the panelist Vaughan Tyrell, Mike Bascombe for sharing your insights! #Sustainability #ESG #ESGreporting #carbonaccounting

Scale Profit with Purpose for People & Planet™ 🌎 | #1 Bestselling Author | IMPACT Growth Strategy Advisor | Category, Marketing, & Commercial | Sustainability | NED | Podcaster

The recent Blue Earth Summit highlighted the limitless possibilities of our collective #impact. The buzz, energy and impact of a new generation of purpose-led brands and businesses are transforming the way we work and ... ultimately live. Key Forces at Play: 🌎 Sector Collaboration: Corporates, start-ups and investors are combining sector-specific expertise, funding, grassroots connections, and operational strengths for greater innovation and impact. 🌎 Catalysts of Change: Smaller disruptive businesses are redefining sustainability industry standards, forcing larger corporations to adopt sustainable practices or risk falling behind. 🌎 Funding for Impact: Blended finance models are unlocking innovation, combining public and private investment to pursue profit alongside purpose. 🌎 Ethical Supply Chains: Traceability and paying it forward are setting a new standard, which are also more commercially viable. 🌎 Positive Tipping Points: Rapid adoption of EVs, renewable energy, and sustainable practices are creating momentum toward a low-carbon future for greater accessibility, innovation, and market growth. Massive congratulations to Guy Hayler, Will Hayler and the entire Blue Earth Summit team for connecting and inspiring everyone! Together with Impact Hub London (Devi Clark, Petr Skvaril, Mariana Mesanelli Nunes) we’re committed to pushing the boundaries to accelerate #purpose-led #strategy, #innovation, and #capability — driving lasting value across social, environmental, and business spheres.

The EFN team are very excited to be at our second market information day today at #ImpactHubLondon 🙌 Our learning cohort heard presentations from 4 live investment opportunities, all with a positive environmental impact. Thank you to Dizzie, Carbon 13, One Planet Capital and Bristol Energy Cooperative. EFN has long supported those who interested in environmental philanthropy and our Environmental Impact Investing Group (EIIG) exists to support those who wish to learn more about impact investing. Our next Market Information Day is on 20 November. The day is open to all those who represent or are a trust, foundation or individual with a certain level of assets - as is the entire EIIG learning programme. Learn more and sign up here: https://lnkd.in/e293Te2d #invest #impact #investing #philanthropy #ESG #impactinvesting Important T&Cs: - The EIIG does not go further than providing a means for Investors and Ventures and Funds to communicate. Any follow up interactions, or information shared relating to particular transactions is not the responsibility of the EIIG.    - Participants at Market Information Days will need to self-certify in order to attend as either representing a high net worth institution such as a trust or foundation, or as a high net worth individual or a sophisticated investor. We’ll send more information to those who express interest.

🔑 How can universities and businesses align their efforts to create a seamless flow of knowledge and innovation? This was a question our CEO, Jodie Eastwood, discussed during a panel at Times Higher Education Events’ World Academic Summit 2024 earlier this month. Here are some of our thoughts: ▶ Collaborative partnerships between universities & businesses are vital. A great example we’ve seen in the KQ is the Public Collaboration Lab at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London (CSM) that enables a world-class design university to work with their local government to drive social change through design-led projects. Have you visited the Story Garden behind The British Library? It’s a fantastic example of such a project, demonstrating the creative design of urban spaces that would otherwise remain unused, awaiting development. Through the T-Factor project, we partnered with CSM to support projects like this. 👉 Learn more about 'T-Factor' here: https://lnkd.in/ei_dWnwx ▶ Furthermore, local innovation hubs, like Impact Hub London, can serve as spaces where people and ideas can physically come together to systematically turn concepts into applied innovations. ▶ Building talent pipelines is also important. By co-designing curricula with industry feedback, universities can train students with specific in-demand skills, ensuring they are equipped to meet future job market needs. 💬 Have you seen any inspiring examples of successful knowledge exchange between universities, businesses, or government? Faye Bowser from Siemens, Daniel Diermeier from Vanderbilt University, and David Willetts from Resolution Foundation, thank you so much for joining us on the panel. And a special thanks to Lou Cordwell OBE for your facilitation. #InnovationDistricts #THEwas #KnowledgeQuarterLondon
