    🆕 Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your information rights. Our new research into public perceptions of Internet of Things (IoT) products’ security revealed that the more people know about the products, the less they trust them and the companies behind them with their personal information. We ran a ‘citizen jury’ with members of the public, which is a method allowing researchers to inform participants about a topic first, and then get their views on specific proposals. We explored six areas of data protection: consent, transparency, profiling and advertising, individual rights, accountability and security. We listened to the public’s experiences with IoT products and we asked for their thoughts on our propositions for manufacturer requirements.     Happy #WaterSavingWeek 2024! 🌊 We are proud to be working with Nick Eves and Oliver Eley from Southern Water, Jon Ross from Blue Waves’ innovation team and GroundBreaker Systems to trial a new water-saving technology among residential households. The technology eliminates flow variations caused by natural pressure fluctuations in the supply system which should result in water and energy savings to customers without impacting their experience in the home.
