Uplifting week at Wallsend... Both Inch Cape’s offshore AC transformers were seamlessly lifted onto the Siemens Energy Offshore Transfomer Module (OTM®) at the Smulders Wallsend yard last week. The 476 tonne transformers are the largest ever for a UK offshore wind farm. The Sarens team executed three successful lifts in total as one of the offshore shunt reactors was added to the topside as well. Just one shunt reactor to go for this key fabrication phase.
