AERQ discontinues operations Cabin digital platform start-up AERQ is discontinuing its business activities after a five-year build-up and development phase. The company, based in Hamburg, says it will immediately stop offering and developing its platform-based in-flight entertainment (IFE) system AERENA aimed at commercial airlines. ExecuJet Haite's maintenance centre has announced that it has completed 96-month checks on three Embraer Legacy 650 aircraft. Based at Tianjin's Binhai International Airport in China, the work on all three Embraer aircraft was performed simultaneously and within a four-month timeframe. Thai Airways International has chosen Saudi Arabia’s leading commercial satellite services provider Neo Space Group to provide IFC solutions for its fleet. This will include the activation of NSG’s In-Flight Connectivity solution on THAI Airways’ future A321NX aircraft and existing B777 fleet, utilising Airbus HBCplus and Safran’s AeroConnect terminals. Gulfstream Aerospace has received the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certification to install Starlink high-speed internet on its award-winning G650 and G650ER aircraft. The G650 and G650ER customers can work directly with Gulfstream to upgrade connectivity for their aircraft. “Starlink is an offering that we know is important to operators,” said Derek Zimmerman, President, Gulfstream Customer Support. Finnair has unveiled a new short-haul cabin on its newly refurbished E190 aircraft. This follows the €200 million renewal of the airline’s long-haul cabins earlier this year. “After receiving positive feedback following the rollout of our new long-haul cabin, we wanted to invest in our regional aircraft to further improve comfort on flights within Europe,” said Eerika Enne, Finnair Head of Inflight Customer Experience.
