A huge thank you to all those who attended the Project 13 event at the ICE hosted by Julio Lacorzana CEng MICE in partnership with Project 13 and the Infrastructure Client Group. It was great to hear from all our speakers and panelists with some very interesting discussion on reimagining delivery models using the Project 13 principles. To find out more, visit www.project13.info #project13 #deliverymodels #enterprise
What an amazing energy at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) headquarters last Monday! We had a packed room with over 100+ passionate individuals discussing the future of infrastructure delivery models. 🙌 Huge shout out to our incredible panellists for sharing their insights: Florence Julius, Richard Lennard, Liz Baldwin and Andrew Page. A key takeaway from my side and a call of action: to deliver better infrastructure we need collaboration, innovation and an outcome focus, and P13 provides a robust framework to achieve precisely that. It was also great to see so many Deloitte colleagues demonstrating their commitment to driving positive change in the infrastructure sector. Let's keep the momentum going! How are you incorporating these principles to deliver better infrastructure outcomes? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #Project13 #Collaboration #Partnerships #Culture #Governance

In June, the Carbon Task Group of the Infrastructure Client Group, along with industry partners launched an accelerator around the ways clients can ensure the reduction of carbon in concrete in their projects. The Concrete Decarbonisation Accelerator has seven commitments that clients can sign up to. In our latest feature in the New Civil Engineer, we were pleased to share details of the launch of the Concrete Decarbonisation Accelerator Programme on 11 June at the ICE’s London headquarters. As the article highlights, the Accelerator, led by National Highways and joined by nine other major infrastructure organisations, harnesses the collective power of our members to drive substantial reductions in the carbon impact of concrete. This involves sharing knowledge about low-carbon concrete solutions, collaborative alignment with commitments like benchmarking carbon reduction pathways and embedding low-carbon requirements into projects, and using data analysis to influence concrete demand. Set to transform our approach to reducing the carbon footprint of concrete, a major contributor to global emissions, this initiative underscores our commitment to achieving the UK government’s 2050 net-zero targets and fostering a sustainable future for the construction sector. ⏬ The 2024 Circularity Gap Report https://lnkd.in/ebsYzjAX confirms that #global #circularity has declined from 9.1% in 2018 to 7.2% in 2023. The built environment is named as a key system to lead the world's transformation to a #CircularEconomy. 🔍 This #critical role is explored further in cross-industry reports including "Our Shared Understanding: a circular economy in the built environment" https://lnkd.in/eUNzZQG8 🌍 At our Infrastructure Client Group #Circular #Economy workshop – one of the #Infrastructure #Carbon Task Group's series of deep-dive Adopter Workshops – we looked for ways to move from ad-hoc action to lead #faster, more #collaborative progress. So many ideas, plenty of potential #quickwins and huge strategic #transformation opportunity; it's all about retaining #value, reducing #cost and crunching down the #carbon ... but to do that you need different #data, a new focus on #materials' #availability and #timing, new #behaviours for clients and supply chain - and a desire to change. Thank you to our expert presenters who shared their latest learning about their efforts to walk the #Circular #Economy talk from three #diverse viewpoints: 💡 Katy Beardsworth (MIEMA, CEnv), Circular Economy Strategy Manager, Network Rail 💡 Richard Palmer, Development Director, Delancey 💡 Jemilah Bailey, Policy and Programmes Manager for Waste and Circular Economy, Greater London Authority Thanks to everyone who attended and Rachel Skinner CBE for chairing yet another lively discussion ⚡.
