NICE - National Institute for Health and Care Excellence announced changes in the HTA process for appraisals from today. The most notable of which is the retirement of Document A (Summary of submission), an additional section for subsequent treatments used in relevant studies, and expanded reporting of trial results. We also note the requirement to describe where the technology will be prescribed and commissioned. These changes, along with others in the document attached will require some additional work and some efficiency in submission development, we believe the net contribution of workload is probably close to zero but will indeed monitor and keep our clients closely informed. Our team believes the new requirements are sensible and will help NICE committees make informed decisions.
