Our work with Potager Farm dates back over two years, over the course of which we've helped the Berlin-based business supply the German capital’s thriving gastro scene. We initially hosted members of team Potager at our Crop Research Centre in Scotland, training them to use our technology and accompanying software, so to see the towers in action makes us immensely proud! Last week, we were delighted to welcome visitors to our Dundee-based Crop Research Centre from The Juniper Trust, the ICAS Foundation, and The Robertson Trust. Visits like this are always the perfect opportunity for us to showcase a range of career avenues young people may never have considered, or even known existed. We were blown away by some of the questions this group asked – it's so rewarding to get to show off our tech to such an interested and engaged audience!

Food security is one of our generation's biggest challenges, with consequences that could ring far beyond empty shelves and stockpiling. Reforesting landscapes poses a huge logistical challenge – one only exacerbated by increasing labour shortages across the globe. Factor in the impact of diseases and unpredictable weather patterns, and planters are left scratching their heads as to how to get any real value out of reforestation. This is where vertical farming comes in. We’ve worked with national bodies to help provide a solution where tree seedlings start life in an IGS Growth Tower, getting access to key nutrients and growing robustly to the point where they’re ready to be transplanted outdoors. Our recent partnership with ReFarm in the Middle East embeds a waste-to-value system, combining innovative technologies to reduce waste at every opportunity.
