From Lagos to London: A Journey of Resilience and Grace! 🌍✈️
I am beyond thrilled to share that I have officially embarked on my MSc in Global Health & Development at UCL (University College London) — a prestigious university ranked in the Top 10 globally (QS Quacquarelli Symonds 2025), named 2024 University of the Year by The Times and Sunday Times, and ranked Top 6 in the world for Public Health (ShanghaiRanking Consultancy 2023). Even more exciting, this journey is fully funded as the African Graduate Scholarship, thanks to the UCL Institute for Global Health, the CP Charitable Trust, and the
International Students House (London) ! 🎉🙏
🌟 The Road to London 🌟
The application process was no easy feat. I applied to over 15 programmes and received offers from 10 (yes, a few rejections too—but resilience is key!). But this fully funded scholarship is truly the sweetest reward of all! 💫
First and foremost, I owe this remarkable achievement to God Almighty. 🙏 And to those who walked this path with me:
Adebisi Adeyeye, thank you for giving me hope when I needed it most and for guiding me to the very end.
To my brothers from another mother, Confidence Oseghale, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, mPSN, mNRCS, who has been with me from day one, and Valentino Ugbala, who stepped in at just the right moment—I couldn’t have done it without you. 💪
My heartfelt gratitude to my academic referees and mentors: Prof Collins Airemwen, Prof Augustine Okhamafe, Prof Ray Ozolua, Prof Azuka Oparah, Prof Michael Uhumwangho, Professor Cyril Usifoh and the entire Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin.
A huge thanks to my professional referee, Pharm ELIJAH KELANI, for vouching for my expertise, and the Alpha Pharmacy team for shaping me into the pharmacist I am today. 💼
To my incredible RxPress Health family—Ikhide Alonge, Osaigbovo Oboigba, Onyeka Onwughai, Hilary Agbonkhese, Catherine Uwaya—your support played a crucial role in this success. I am grateful beyond words. 🙏
Special recognition goes to my academic Godfather, Prof George Ukagba, and to my LinkedIn role models— David C. Michael, Trust Nwaka, Jude Onunkwo, ADEBISI Yusuff Adebayo, Oluwatobi Oni, and Adewunmi Akingbola (MD, MPhil). Your guidance has been invaluable. 🌟
And of course, a shoutout to my family: my mum, dad, siblings and extended family. I celebrate my sister Ugochi Ihedilionye (also just bagged a fully funded scholarship at Newcastle University) and my brother Gerald Ihedilionye (PTDF Scholar, Imperial College London graduate). You inspire me every day! ❤️. I am also grareful to all my friends and well-wishers.
✨ As I step into this exciting new chapter, I pray for continued grace and wisdom. This is just the beginning! 🚀
