Interpath is pleased to have advised Irish Residential Properties REIT plc (“I-RES”), Ireland’s largest provider of private rental accommodation, on the refinancing of its existing revolving credit facility. The new facility includes a €500 million RCF and an additional €200 million Accordion Facility, offering medium-term capacity and enhanced flexibility for the company. The new agreement, which involves long-term partners Bank of Ireland, Barclays, and AIB, also introduces ABN AMRO as a new lender. The refinancing ensures that I-RES remains well-positioned to address Ireland's housing supply challenges while continuing to execute its growth strategy. On Monday 7 April, Managing Director Paul Pretlove will return to the UK and join our London Restructuring team. Paul has led our business in the BVI for the last several years, and his move into this team will strengthen our cross-border restructuring offering, ensuring we are seamlessly plugged into all of the key global financial hubs across Europe, Asia, the US and offshore markets. Across 25 years in the industry in the UK, the Cayman Islands and the BVI, Paul has extensive experience in complex, cross-border restructurings and liquidations of banks, hedge funds, a forex broker, oil and gas drilling businesses and several luxury resorts and trusts, as well as offshore asset-tracing and fraud investigations. He has led on high-profile engagements including acting as joint liquidator of the Three Arrows Fund, as well as liquidator of two BVI-registered Madoff feeder funds, pursuing extensive and complex cross-border litigation on behalf of investors that suffered multibillion-dollar losses. We are delighted to announce James Drury will become Head of Interpath in the BVI following Paul Pretlove’s return to the UK in April. Paul will maintain his existing appointments and will continue to work closely with James and the wider Caribbean team from London in his new home where he will remain focused on cross-border restructuring engagements. James has been in the BVI for 10 years and joined Interpath following the acquisition of Kalo in 2022. James’s ability to handle complex cases efficiently and effectively has earned him the respect and regard of his peers and clients alike. James’s dedication to providing excellent client service and his skill in managing complex matters make him an invaluable asset to his firm and clients. Today our team at Interpath secured the sale of a substantial part of French restaurant group Bistrot Pierre to a vehicle owned by Cherry Equity Partners Limited. The deal, which was undertaken through a pre-pack administration process, safeguards 394 jobs and the future of a popular brand on the UK high street. Will Wright and Ryan Grant were appointed to Bistrot Pierre 1994 Limited, which trades as Bistrot Pierre, on Friday 7 March 2025, after the business experienced pressures on margins and, like much of the hospitality sector, was braced for a significant rise in costs due to impending increases to National Minimum Wage and National Insurance Contributions. While some sites have closed, resulting in redundancies, the sale enables ten sites continue to trade and provides a platform for the brand’s future. Congratulations to all the team at Bistrot Pierre and Cherry Equity Partners for getting this over the line. Of course, thanks to our team here at Interpath, including Dom Pannozzo, who led the transaction alongside Will Wright, as well as Leanne Wylde, JJ Dewes, Katy Lever, and Charlie Klinkenberg.
