How can you land profitable deals with #Japan's and #SouthKorea's largest corporations - their keiretsu and chaebol? Understanding their structures, cultures and decision-making processes is vital, and there are often big differences from one group to another. So argues Niklas T. from our #Tokyo office in this interesting article exploring the origins of Asia's corporate giants, the way they operate today and cases of international companies that have succeeded in selling to them. If you'd like to know more, contact Niklas at niklas.tawast@intralinkgroup.com. And if you're a UK innovator interested in free and subsidised support to help you sell to Asia's corporate giants, find out about the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme - which we deliver on behalf of the Government - here: https://lnkd.in/ec6XcAwK https://lnkd.in/ecYk6UZw

The Intralink team is in action right now in a charity five-a-side football tournament, raising funds for Homeless Oxfordshire. And it's not too late to donate!! From left to right below, Polly Harley, David Peacock, Tom Miller, James Francis, Huw Thomas, Will Oliviero, Takuya Gamboni and Imogen Lewis -plus Michał Waszkiewicz behind the camera - are taking part in the ‘Business Fives Reading’ tournament, pitting their fancy footwork against company teams across the area. Homeless Oxfordshire is an important charity which we've long supported. It provides accomodation for people in need in the county where our HQ is based, where the number of rough sleepers has risen by a shocking 400% since 2012. You can donate to this great cause via our Just Giving page here: https://lnkd.in/euRRAZAJ

We’re taking part in a charity five-a-side football tournament in the UK on Tuesday 27 August – to raise money for Homeless Oxfordshire. Can you help us by donating to this important cause? We have an enthusiastic team that will be participating in the ‘Business Fives Reading’ tournament, where we’ll be up against company teams across Berkshire and Oxfordshire, all raising money for great causes. Tom Miller has organised us and will be joined by Takuya Gamboni, Imogen Lewis, Michał Waszkiewicz, Huw Thomas, Will Oliviero, David Peacock, Hikaru Y. and James Francis. Homeless Oxfordshire provides a place to stay and vital broader support for people facing homelessness in the area around our HQ – accommodating an average of 170 people each night. Alarmingly, the number of homeless people here has quadrupled over the last decade. This will be 85th consecutive month we’ve donated to the charity, and anything you can add for this event will count. • Just £12 will keep someone warm and safe for a week • £25 will provide a decent daily meal for a week • £47 will buy someone new, clean bedding • £100 will cover a trauma counselling session Please visit our fundraising page for more and to donate to help us hit our target. Thank you! https://lnkd.in/euRRAZAJ

Our latest market intelligence report has just been published – on the commercial opportunities in #China’s #hydrogeneconomy. Our Shanghai team has produced it for Switzerland Global Enterprise and you can download it for free from its website here. It describes how China is pushing for carbon neutrality by 2060, with ambitious goals for its hydrogen sector. Big areas of investment include mobility – with plans to make 5 million fuel cell vehicles (#FCVs) by 2050 – as well as initiatives to decarbonise its steel and chemical industries. But the country’s infrastructure and domestic technologies are not yet sufficiently developed. And only 3% of its hydrogen production is “green” – with a goal to increase this to 80% by 2050. This is creating major opportunities for companies which can bring advanced technologies in #electrolysis, #CCUS, #fuelcell development and #hydrogendistribution systems. Our report gives an overview of the sector and its major players, highlights the biggest opportunities for innovators from #Switzerland and #Liechtenstein, and recommends the most effective ways to gain a foothold in this fast-growing market. If you'd like to discuss the opportunities for your business in China's hydrogen sector, you can reach report's author, our Shanghai-based Daniel Kollar, at daniel.kollar@intralinkgroup.com. https://lnkd.in/eR6bTJCx

This interesting article by journalist Will Girling has just been published in Automotive World, exploring how the trends disrupting Asia's #automotive sector are driving new mergers and alliances - and quoting insights from our Thomas Shiekman. '... Tommy Shiekman, Automotive Specialist at international business development consultancy Intralink, believes [new Chinese EV players] will cause a significant rebalance of power in the Asian industry. In the near term, continuing to act alone will become difficult. '... Shiekman concludes that the trends favouring M&A will “only intensify further as competition and innovation in the Asian auto industry accelerate.”' It's well worth a read (subscription needed). (The factors reshaping the Asian industry are opening many opportunities for international automotive tech innovators, too. If you'd like to discuss what this could mean for your business, you can contact Tommy at thomas.shiekman@intralinkgroup.com.) https://lnkd.in/eJ2je5JV

Great to see this article in Startups Magazine about the initiative our UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme team just delivered for five British companies in the #quantumcomputing field. The UK delegation went to Quantum Korea 2024, where we arranged 35 meetings with #SouthKorean corporations to kick start commercial discussions. The UK companies were Wave Photonics (James Lee), Quantum Software Lab (Craig Skeldon), Cavero Quantum (James Trenholme), Element Six (Matthew Markham) and Oxford Instruments plc (Gayeon Jung), whose innovations attracted huge interest from the Korean corporations. If you'd like to be considered for initiatives such as this to help your business expand in Asia Pacific, you can find out more about the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme and apply to join here: https://lnkd.in/ec6XcAwK https://lnkd.in/gaSwygEM
