London EV Company (LEVC)'s £500 million manufacturing plant in Coventry was the UK's first dedicated electric vehicle production facility when it opened in 2017. Last year, the state-of-the art Ansty Park factory, which employs more than 500 people, celebrated a major milestone when the 10,000th vehicle rolled off the production line. Sustainable manufacturing has always been at the core of LEVC's operations which is why the company partnered with Axil Integrated Services ♻️ in 2020 to improve waste processes, maintain zero to landfill status, and drive out costs. Following the roll-out of Axil’s Total Waste Management service in October 2020, LEVC are seeing impressive results, including: ▪️ 212% increase in metal rebates following improved segregation. ▪️ 100% diverted from landfill by improving waste segregation on site. ▪️ 100% segregated at source for sustainable disposal. The UK is now the fourth largest exporter of goods and services in the world, overtaking France, Netherlands and Japan. According to the latest statistics from the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which leads on global trade for the UN, the UK has overtaken France, Netherlands and Japan to take fourth position, behind only China, the US, and Germany. In a separate report, the recently published 'The True Impact of UK Manufacturing’ shows industry is worth £518bn and supports 7.3million UK jobs directly and across the supply chains/communities it operates in. This represents nearly a quarter of total GDP (23%) and far bigger than the direct contribution of 8.2% that is usually quoted by economists. Carried out by Oxford Economics and the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the in-depth report also shows that ‘making things’ accounts for 34.5% of all UK goods and services exports.
