International Road Assessment Programme: Supporting 3-star or better journeys for all road users.
About us
The International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) is a registered charity dedicated to preventing the more than 3,500 road deaths that occur every day worldwide. iRAP partners with governments, mobility clubs, development banks, research institutes and road safety NGOs in 90 countries to provide the tools and training to make roads safe. Our vision if for a world free of high risk roads. iRAP works in partnership with government and non-government organisations to: • inspect high-risk roads and develop Star Ratings and Safer Roads Investment Plans • provide training, technology and support that will build and sustain national, regional and local capability • track road safety performance so that funding agencies can assess the benefits of their investments. iRAP is financially supported by the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society and the Road Safety Fund. Projects receive support from the World Bank Global Road Safety Facility, automobile associations, regional development banks and donors. National governments, automobile clubs and associations, charities, the motor industry and institutions such as the European Commission also support RAPs in the developed world and encourage the transfer of research and technology to iRAP. In addition, many individuals donate their time and expertise to support iRAP.

iRAP is running events around the globe to celebrate our partners success and discuss the next steps in innovation areas and commitments we need to push foward. Last week, we were in Brussels to meet our European partners. It was mind-blowing to hear so many initiatives in Italy, Germany, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Uk, Spain, Croatia and others and feel so much love and passion for road safety. I had the privilege of sharing a panel with Monica O. and Pedro Homem de Gouveia to discuss urban challenges and present SR4S and YEA. It was also mind-blowing to hear all we are going to deliver and the advances that projects like the Phoebe Project, IVORY Network, and ELABORATOR Project will bring to the road safety community. LA and Africa are our next stops! Eleonora Papadimitriou, Marko Sevrovic, Sam Chapman, Edoardo Mazzia
