We're pleased to release The Hearach First Fill Oloroso Cask Matured Single Malt, the second whisky expression from our island distillery and the Isle of Harris. In the far south-western corner of Spain lies the ancient region of Andalusia. Here among hot and dusty hills of Huelva, the men and women of sherry-makers José y Miguel Martín ‘cooper’ casks with age-old craft and care before they are sent to their wineries in Jerez. We first visited this historic part of world back in 2015 to begin our relationship with this highly respected family business, and have been proud to source our specially selected Oloroso butts directly from them ever since. Their Oloroso sherry is a dry, dark and nutty fortified wine and its influence on the wood in turn imparts an unmistakably bold richness to our spirit when the casks finally reach Harris and begin maturing our island whisky far from their original home You can now buy your bottle here in the UK through our website store, or from the distillery shop in Tarbert. From time to time, we quietly release a small allocation of our casks for private ownership. This year, we warmly invite you to join us as we go bolder than ever, with a limited number of Ex-Heaven Hill first-fill bourbon barrels to be filled with our most heavily peated spirit to date! Our private cask program allows you to own a piece of our history and have a unique, personalised spirit that can be enjoyed for years to come. Each cask purchased is filled especially for you here in Tarbert and comes with full island provenance, including both maturation and bottling here on the Isle of Harris. The barrel ends will be painted with your cask name and we even let you capture your dram when it's finally ready in our beautiful glass bottle with a customised label. Our outer packaging also won the BEST GLOBAL award against all entries in the category from across the world.
