This month has been a milestone month at IR. Over 100 hours of robotics lessons translates to 3000 learning hours 🦾 We are overjoyed by the reception our STEM classes have received. Being reminded of how important it is to try new things whilst we are young, the truth that our brains 🧠 are much more susceptible to the impact of neuro plasticity has been apparent. Not all the children built robot arms/buggies and not all the children wrote the code from top to bottom BUT all of the children got involved and every child has a renewed sense of what their future world will look like, and they are embracing it. A fleet of Robot Arms meets a 120 children to learn about industry 4.0 such a valuable lesson. This week we had our penultimate lesson in robotics with the Gotti. Our children have embraced this new technology and we have planted the seeds we sought out to plant. The Gotti (Got It) robot arm had a fantastic couple of days with the children Arnold Academy 🦾 Big thanks to headteacher Pete Roberts and a massive congratulations to your students who all took to the course naturally and with real vigor. The next few weeks already looks like it will be epic. Next step is to allow the children more hands-on with building their own robot arm and then coding it to complete some automation tasks. Meet Gotti (got-it) the latest addition to the IR family for STEM in schools! This isn’t your ordinary robot arm. Gotti has 4 degrees of freedom (DOF) can be controlled by voice and comes loaded with an AI camera, IMU, Microphone and WIFI 🛜 connectivity. We are not sure how quickly the children will learn how to program the arm but we are confident that they WILL LEARN. We will cover the basics or C++ and Python 🐍 and then even make a simple mobile application to control the arm with. All in just 4 weeks.
