I never really ask for anything from my network But here's a call to action... Some of you will know, we're relaunching The Yorkshire Mafia. The first relaunch event was last week - and even a train strike couldn't keep us from hosting a maxed out event (the feedback has been amazing). We're firmly heading back to the days when we held some of the biggest regional business events in Europe and created an internal market of over £100m, brought together over 1/4 of a million people face-to-face and hosted senior executives from some of the biggest brands on the planet. 🤔 What do we want? In its pomp it was probably best described as a movement (maybe that's a little grandiose) - based on the idea that we really are Stronger Together. The Yorkshire Mafia brings together executives and stakeholders from the Yorkshire Business Community to meet, network, share experience, learn, build relationships and ultimately trade (where appropriate). This is all done in a relaxed and sales-free environment. Combining the best of business membership with the scale and speed advantages that social networking technologies offer.  We successfully transcended online and offline boundaries by creating a unique online forum and a calendar of targeted events to spark interaction with diverse industry executives who share a homogenous interest in the advancement of the Yorkshire region. Our events programme includes round table discussions, thought leadership events, a variety of networking functions and annual conferences, all of which are unrivalled within the region. 🚀 What's new since the relaunch? There are some huge things in the pipeline. We might have been a little quiet recently - but our ambition is bolder than ever. 🥊 A better comeback than Rocky II Simon, a The Yorkshire Mafia member, wrote to me yesterday and reminded me of its legacy and its potential: "If Facebook is cool, The Yorkshire Mafia is downright dangerous." he quoted. This was The Sunday Telegraph's headline for its double-page feature on The Yorkshire Mafia (back I the days when Facebook possibly was a little bit cool). He then said... "You have done an amazing job and we are all so thankful to you and your team—Now make it even bigger." And we're going to do just that... 🌟 At our peak, we hosted the Buy Yorkshire Conference, with senior execs from global giants and mega brands - like Uber, Tesla, Marvel, Lego, Virgin Hyperloop One, Microsoft, IBM, CISCO, Twitter, LinkedIn, British Airways among the speaker line up. It wasn’t just a conference; it was a two day festival of business collaboration, FREE to attend for all making a top tier event accessible to everyone. 🔥 Simon's message wasn't just about nostalgia; it was a clarion call to surpass our former achievements and redefine business networking and business events across Yorkshire and beyond. 🌐 As we plan our resurgence, it was a much-needed and gratefully received message. Thank you, Simon. 🗣️ Nothing has really risen to fill the gap that The Yorkshire Mafia left when it semi-retired from public life a few years ago. This surprised me. So, Inspired by past exploits — from cycling to Paris to climbing Kilimanjaro, hosting 250,000 event registrations, creating £millions of in-kind giving for good causes, establishing an internal market of over £100m p.a. — and driven by the potential for future achievements, we are doing our business star-jumps, knee bends and stretches - as we limber up to step back into the ring (see how I brought it back to boxing - to tie in with the subject title? 🥊 😀 ). And we have plans. Big AUDACIOUS plans. Here's our first showreel - back when we could get hold of a helicopter, had a box of photos and enough clout to get someone to let us onto the top of Bridgewater Place....
