It has two specific objectives: - To create - and be a caretaker of - the new ISO/IEC 19770-1 organisational certification program so organisations can demonstrate the quality of their ITAM practices; and - To educate and evangelise to encourage more companies to do ITAM, with a focus on business value, and to attract new professionals into the industry. Congratulations to Venkat Krishnan and Premnadh K for delivering the first ever ITAM FORUM Chapter meeting in Bangalore. It was a true pleasure to be part of this event and to meet ITAM professionals from India, some of whom have supported the ITAM Review since 2008, yet we had never met in person until now. Topics included ITAM and FinOps convergence, Oracle Java, Green Computing and Sustainability, 19770, Trends inpacting ITAM, Opensource compliance and of course Artificial Intelligence. IT Asset Management (ITAM) is a complex discipline, so its implementation may be tricky, even if you well know the ISO/IEC 19770 family of standards for ITAM. That’s why an ISO guidance for implementing ITAM have been created: ISO/IEC 19770-10. Its content, approved by all national standardization bodies in the world, is running toward the last milestone: publication that I hope by the end of this year. The project began in November 2020 under the leadership of the renowned David Bicket, before he passed the torch to me in 2023. Writing and reviewing these 150+ pages was a huge piece of work, so I want to thank and congratulate the fine experts who contributed: particularly Sherry Irwin, Kylie Fowler FBCS, Balram Pandey, Jean-Marc Galler and Vojtech Hutar, and also Rose-Ann Merulla, Anthony Fitzgerald , Ben van den Bosch, Omkar adval, Anas Mok, Bryant Caldwell, Scott Keatinge, MBA, James Culham, Matt Ward and Trevor Chambers.
