DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS - ITS SUMMIT 2024
What a better way to wrap up the peak industry event of the year for the Australian #ITS industry, than to have the Hon. John Graham, Minister for Roads NSW Government, on-site for the third and final day. We were honoured to show the Minister through the expo, stopping by a number of our exhibitor displays including Host State Partners Transport for NSW and Major Partners TomTom among others, before stopping by our closing plenary to provide a keynote address on the current updates and what's coming up next for NSW Roads.
Day 3 also saw the highly anticipated International Leaders Forum featuring a number of esteemed executives representing ITS peak bodies across the Asia Pacific including #ITSSingapore, #ITSAustralia, #ITSNewZealand, #ITSThailand, #ITSMalaysia, #ITSIndonesia, #ITSTaiwan, #ITSHongKong, and #ITSKorea. The forum provided the opportunity to delve into the shared transport challenges faced throughout the region, and to highlight the developing solutions happening at a country level that have potential for expansion across the globe.
We were also honoured to finally launch the inaugural and highly anticipated #ITSCareersExpo as part of #ITSSummit2024 - bringing together over 150 students to experience the event first hand and discover the depth of opportunities across the industry. Students and Summit delegates were treated to two separate customised program sessions featuring a range of early career and established industry expert presenters including Inger Gartner, Cubic Transportation Systems, Scott Fennelly, Main Roads Western Australia, Gillian Kidson, Transurban, Jessica Tong, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, Kalan Ralph, Shayna Elley, Outbound, Tim Hudson, Emily Bobis, Compass IoT, Jordan Hutchinson, SAGE Group, Alex Moody, Aldridge Traffic Controllers Pty Ltd.
As if that wasn't enough, Day 3 was also the host of our Summit National Women in Transport Morning Tea! We were honoured to have both Tithi Roy from NEC Corporation and Michael Hopkins from National Transport Commission sharing insights from their organisations on the benefits of supporting and promoting women within the industry, and the necessity of highlighting and proactively implementing solutions to barriers that can stop or restrict the progress of women in ITS.
Needless to say, an absolutely jam packed day filled with industry leading and essential discussions, connections, and opportunities.
We'd like to thank all of our valued members, partners, exhibitors, presenters, and team for making #ITSSummit2024 what it was. Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements on #ITSSummit2025, and of course, our other renowned #ITSAustralia events still to come this year and early next!
