This week at our NBOX1 facility we are working together with our LINX training partners Systems & Network Training Ltd to deliver a 2-day course titled BGP & Peering 101. The 2-day course will cover everything from basic BGP, AS numbers, IXP architecture, how to connect to any IXP, route servers and more. #peering #bgp #IXP #datacentre
This week in Nairobi we are working together with our LINX training partners Systems & Network Training Ltd to deliver a 2-day course titled BGP & Peering 101. Since arriving in Kenya in November 2023 we have held multiple LINX lead knowledge sharing sessions, where we give our take on peering and interconnection for maximum network impact. We thought we would take this to the next level and bring in the trainers that teach our new LINX engineers. The 2-day course will cover everything from basic BGP, AS numbers, IXP architecture, how to connect to any IXP, route servers and more. Kenya is a key hub for interconnection and digital transformation and it's important for us to ensure we are not only here operating an Internet Exchange Point, but also doing what we can to support the skills in the community for the future of the digital ecosystem. Many thanks to our hosts and LINX Nairobi partners iXAfrica Data Centres for looking after our trainer and students this week. Yesterday, we were excited to unveil our "Step in Your Shoes" program – a transformative initiative where team members shadow their colleagues for a full day through their day to day roles, gaining invaluable insights into their colleagues' daily challenges and victories. We believe that great #innovation starts with understanding but it isn’t just about understanding roles—it’s also about building a #teamculture of empathy, respect, and collaboration. This helps foster cross-departmental understanding, build empathy, strengthen #collaboration across individuals and teams and #Leadership exchange. From marketing to engineering, IT to sales, and even shadowing our CEO! The goal? To see challenges from a fresh perspective, appreciate the moving parts that make iXAfrica thrive, and strengthen the bonds that fuel our collective success. We’re incredibly proud of our team for embracing this experience with open hearts and minds. Their willingness to learn, adapt, and support one another is what makes iXAfrica #culture truly special.
