Last week we welcomed our local Community Safety Advocate from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to our Oldmeldrum facility, to educate young drivers from across the business on road safety. This initiative focused on best practices and highlighted the dangers of speeding, including the risks of using mobile phones whilst driving. It also provided real-life examples of the consequences of careless and reckless driving. At James Fisher, exceptional safety remains at the forefront of everything we do, and so we were delighted to participate in this local initiative, we would like to thank Russell Farquharfor delivering an impactful session, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate in the future.

On A-Level results day, it’s important to remember that there are many routes to success, and your journey is uniquely yours. If you’re considering alternatives to traditional university paths, we have an exciting opportunity that could be the start of an incredible career at sea. Our Cadetship Programme is a fully funded route into the maritime industry, allowing you to study towards a BSc in Nautical Science while gaining 12 months of sea time aboard our fleet of tankers. Just ask Emma Macdonald, who joined us as a Trainee Deck Officer three years ago. Emma achieved a Distinction in her Foundation Degree in Nautical Science, and now, with our support, she’s taking her ambition even further by pursuing a full BSc Degree at Fleetwood College. We’re currently recruiting eight Trainee Deck Officers for our February 2025 intake, and if you’re passionate about the sea, this could be your perfect fit. We’re also hosting information events on August 19th and 22nd via Microsoft Teams for anyone interested in learning more about this opportunity. At James Fisher and Sons, we believe in the power of diverse paths. The maritime industry offers a fulfilling career, and our cadetship is a fantastic way to start your journey in the Merchant Navy. Remember, there’s no wrong path to success—only the one that’s right for you. 🌟 For more details, register for our information sessions here: https://brnw.ch/21wLREZ #CareerAtSea #Seafarers #MaritimeCareers #Cadets #NoWrongPath
