🥇 It’s exciting to be an offshore wind pioneer in Norway, bringing the first major commercial scale project to one of the world’s most promising markets. Over the past three days, colleagues from the Ventyr consortium, which comprises our Parkwind subsidiary and Ingka Investments have welcome many visitors to our booth at ONS to discuss our Sørligo Nordsjø II project and future developments in the market. Nathalie Oosterlinck, our CEO, spoke on a number of panels about working with partners, suppliers, peers and government authorities to build a healthy and profitable industry that supports the whole value chain and brings to life the energy transition. "We are very happy to be here in Norway and we look forward to building this project together with a lot of the stakeholders here". she said. Eric Antoons, Anne K. A busy opening day of ONS 2024 in Stavanger culminated with a visit from Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to the Ventyr booth. 🔎 Ventyr is the alliance built by Parkwind, our offshore wind subsidiary, and Ingka Investments, which is developing the 1.5GW Sørligo Nordsjø wind farm in the southern Norwegian North Sea. The Crown Prince discussed the project with executives during his visit. Earlier in the day, our CEO Nathalie Oosterlinck delivered a speech in the opening session of the International Markets program promoted by Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP). Nathalie discussed the global expansion of offshore wind energy away from its North Sea origins into new markets including Japan and Taiwan, where JERA Nex operates three offshore wind farms. 🤝 She told a packed event that, “the industry has always been most successful in markets in markets where private enterprise and public authorities have worked very closely together in partnership to help build out the industry”. She urged greater cooperation in the industry to help the sector overcome some of the challenges of recent years.   Later, she joined a panel session of industry peers moderated by Jon Dugstad of NORWEP in which participants discussed “Current industry trends in offshore wind”. A lively session debated a number of topics including local content, the prospects for floating wind, and how governments can support the continued development of the sector.  👋 Visit us in hall 4, booth 4070 at ONS until Thursday, and look out for more insights from the conference in the days to come.
