🤔 💰 🚗 THE BUDGET'S IMPACT ON DEALER GROUP LOGISTICS COSTS 🚗 💰 🤔 📈 NI for employers & minimum wage going up means transport providers will likely increase their rates - this will be worst for groups that don't have pre-agreed rates at a group-level, based on forecast volume, with carefully chosen providers. Pricing upon movement request, per movement, is already the more expensive way of moving cars - and that will only go up. 📈 NI for employers also means any employed drivers will cost more - it's a great time to ask yourself if you're maximising the efficiency of these drivers? 📈 Minimum wage is going up by 6.7%, from £11.44 to £12.21 meaning any 0 hour contract drivers are going to cost more too - again, it's a great time to ask yourself if these drivers are operating to maximum efficiency? 👀 📉 OUR ADVICE TO KEEPING COSTS DOWN 📉 👀 1) Agree group-level rates, based on forecast volumes, with hand-picked third party transport providers - and ensure commitment to moving cars within a certain timeframe is part of any agreement. One of the most rewarding parts of building a new business is getting out of the office and meeting customers where they are. In the automotive industry, I’ve found this to be especially true, as relationships are built on trust, credibility, and being easy to work with—values we’ve prioritised from day one. Balancing these customer visits with the demands of launching and growing a product can be challenging, but it’s also been an incredible learning experience.
