Cash Holding Alternative (c.7-9%)… backed by HM Government! UK Gilts are an effective, tax efficient alternative to holding cash – especially for clients that are higher or additional rate taxpayers. Generating a gross yield equivalent of c.7-9% that is backed by HM Government! You can view all UK Gilts currently in issue via the DMO website In the context of personal finance and investing in the UK, "gilt laddering" refers to a strategy used by investors to manage interest rate risk and ensure a steady stream of income from government bonds, known as gilts. Here's how gilt laddering works: Diversification: Investors purchase gilts with different maturities, spreading their investments across a range of bonds with varying terms to maturity. Maturity Staggering: Each gilt in the portfolio matures at different intervals, creating a "ladder" of bonds with staggered maturity dates. For example, an investor might own gilts with maturities ranging from 1 year to 10 years. Income Stream: As each gilt matures, the investor receives the principal back along with interest payments. By reinvesting the proceeds from maturing bonds into new gilts with longer maturities, the investor maintains a consistent income stream while taking advantage of potentially higher yields on longer-term bonds. Risk Management: Gilt laddering helps mitigate interest rate risk because the investor's portfolio is not overly exposed to fluctuations in interest rates. Even if interest rates change, only a portion of the portfolio is affected at any given time, reducing the impact on overall returns. Flexibility: Gilt laddering provides flexibility for investors to adjust their portfolios over time. As bonds mature, investors can reassess their financial goals and market conditions to decide whether to reinvest in longer-term bonds, shorter-term bonds, or other investment options. Overall, gilt laddering is a strategy aimed at achieving a balance between income generation, risk management, and flexibility in a fixed income portfolio, particularly when investing in government bonds in the UK. #finance #investing #savings

📊 Important Update for UK Investors! 📊 🔍 Attention Investors: Changes to Capital Gains Tax (CGT) are on the horizon for the new tax year! 🔍 📈 As we gear up for the new tax year, it's essential to stay informed about the latest changes that could impact your investment decisions. One significant update on the horizon is the reduction in capital gains tax (CGT) Meaning you only have an allowance of £3,000 come April . 😐 📉 💡 Additionally, it's worth exploring the benefits of the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) as a tool for managing CGT. By leveraging EIS, investors can potentially defer CGT payments by reinvesting their capital gains into EIS-qualifying investments. This strategy not only offers tax advantages but also provides income tax relief of up to 30% and supports investments in early-stage companies and start-ups with high potential for growth. A neat tip is reducing that 28% tax on properties down to 20%. 💼💰 🔍 Understanding these changes and exploring strategic options like EIS can be pivotal in making informed investment decisions in the new tax year. 📊 💬 Want to dive deeper into how these changes could impact your investment strategy? Let's connect and discuss further! 💬 🔗 Feel free to drop me a message or comment below, and let's navigate the evolving landscape of investment taxation together! 🌟 hashtag #UKInvestors hashtag #capitalgainstax hashtag #cgt hashtag #eis hashtag #investmentstrategy hashtag #taxation hashtag #financialplanning hashtag #IncomeTaxRelief hashtag #HighGrowthInvestments
