NEW WORK! Neighbourhood – a home for creatives to work, connect, and grow. Neighbourhood is a new workspace in the heart of Leeds, fiercely dedicated to creative professionals. There’s no suits here – only a building full of creative talent, from designers, illustrators, writers, developers, photographers and much more. We helped Neighbourhood build their brand, from name generation and strategy, messaging, visual language, and full brand roll-out. We developed a brand purpose message: ‘Home to create' – highlighting Neighbourhood's USP – a workspace and community only for creative people. This pairs with a bespoke brand illustration featuring a 'community of the park' – referencing Neighbourhood's location in the heart of Leeds' Aire Park. ⌛ ⌛ ⌛ Its taken over a year and half of being a freelancer but I have finally got a new website! This time its been designed and built properly, meaning a) it works and b) it looks like a grown up website rather than one knocked up on Dreamweaver back in the day… It was a nice experience being the client for once and it highlighted to me a few things that are so important in client relationships: 😁 Simple communication and regular updates - These make such a difference, you forget how important they are. It sets you at ease and helps the agency/freelancer get ahead of the client. 👂 If you hire experts, listen to them. The site looks a little different to what I initially expected, but honestly its much better for it. I think sometimes we are keener to enforce our own opinions rather than let experts do their job. 💎 Be a good client. Answer questions quickly, give feedback as soon as you can and pay on time. Do all that and the process is so much easier. 😧 SEO can sometimes take a backseat – Controversial, but I am not that bothered about ranking this site, so I haven’t put a huge amount of effort into the content/architecture. I think the bulk of my leads will come elsewhere, so it makes more sense to focus on those channels. So thank you so much to Joe O'Brien and Isla for the work, I am really happy with it.
