A team from John Lawrie Metals recently supported the Aberdeen Football Club golf event held on the Duke's Course at St Andrews. The rain held off and everyone enjoyed a fantastic round of golf. Our very own Phil Sinclair and Shelley Weston hosted our guests, Andy Dornan from AJT, Alan Duncan from AD Marine (Scotland), and Fraser Downie from Peterculter Golf Club. We would like to thank our guests, Amy Thomson, and the rest of the AFC Team for pulling together another great day. #aberdeenfc #golfday #johnlawriemetals #StAndrews

Our mobile decommissioning team was called on by a valuable client to complete the downsizing and removal of a 440te SSIV structure at Aberdeen South Harbour at the start of August 2024. The team worked to complete this scope without incident in three days, with all material being processing at our Tullos site and exported for final recycling within the month. If you need assistance with your next decommissioning project, please contact us on info@johnlawrie.com to discover how our single step duty of care assurance can minimise your environmental risk whilst delivering maximum economic returns for your subsea inventory. #decommissioning #recycling #scrapmetal #subseastructure #johnlawrie

As the largest receiver of redundant mooring systems, it's fantastic to see yet another 2,000 tonne cargo of wire heading out to be repurposed within the aquaculture industry. Having developed this route, John Lawrie Metals are continuously pushing to direct re-usable material away from traditional recycling routes towards processes where they can be used in their current form. By avoiding the need to purchase new products, the aquaculture industry has realised significant carbon reductions during their manufacturing process by using repurpose material. #circulareconomy #johnlawrie #aquaculture #carbonreduction

Steel is one of the few resources that is infinitely recyclable, although some of it takes that little bit longer before it gets a chance at a new life as something different. Prior to the start of the First World War, the Royal Navy set about constructing a fuel depot in Invergordon to supply naval ships at what was then one of their primary Scottish ports. Becoming operational in 1913, this vast complex of 41 tanks supplied the British Fleet through the First World War and continued in use right through the Second World War. Although considerable in size, these have remained tucked away out of sight and service behind Invergordon, but the removal of these tanks is now almost complete. Having stood for almost 120 years, the almost 10,000te of steel from these tanks is currently being processed at our sites ready for smelting. Within the next six months, this material will be remanufactured and ready to be reused as a new metal products. #johnlawrie #scrapmetal #recycling #decommissioning #invergordon
