About us
We're on a mission to power 10 million people in green jobs in 10 years. To reach net-zero, the world needs to decarbonise homes, roads and energy systems - dramatically transforming the physical infrastructure of the world. This creates both a bottleneck and opportunity around the skilled workforce needed to deliver the infrastructure - with millions of good, green jobs being created globally in areas like retrofit, solar installation and EVs. We help people discover, get trained and get into employment for these jobs - launching careers that are good for people's wallets and good for the planet.

PwC has identified that #GreenJobs tend to offer higher levels of pay and greater levels of job satisfaction compared to the rest of the market. They also found, that even entry-level green jobs attract a pay premium, with 60% of occupations commanding a 23% pay premium on average for entry-level green roles. New heroes for Net Zero 🌎 Creating and filling green jobs is crucial if the UK is to meet its target to deliver a net-zero economy by 2050. However, the available workers and skill set required for these positions are increasingly falling short of what is needed to meet growing demand, with the Green Alliance stating that “every major sector in the UK needs to close a significant skills gap to enable them to reach net zero.” Greenworkx, an EdTech start-up with a mission to get 10 million people into green jobs in 10 years, is focused on tackling this ‘green skills emergency’. ✅ The City & Guilds Foundation has worked in partnership with Greenworkx for a pilot that addresses the increasing demand for Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) and Retrofit Assessor roles key to making older buildings more energy-efficient and sustainable. 🌍 Electric vehicles have a key role to play in the journey to net zero, but the UK is falling behind on progress... 💡 By 2035, under current legislation, all new cars and vans sold must be zero-emission, and over the next four years, tens of thousands of new skilled workers will be needed to achieve this. ✅ We launched our Taking Charge report with support from ubitricity and Shell Recharge to outline how the UK can tackle this incoming EV workforce challenge. 💭 The report examines: “What’s the nature of the problem? What can be done? And who should do it?” ⚡ To read our insights, overview of the industry and an account of some of the challenges ahead, download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gqr6am-A
