Due to the ever-growing demand for remote meetings JPJ Installations Ltd have recently installed 2 new meeting rooms at our head office consisting of glazed screens using Kawneer UK AA720 window and door system in an Anodic paint range to showcase a greener quicker solution to give a visually similar look. The glazing installed is triple glazed with internal blinds to aid with acoustic performance and give the option for privacy. Dividing the meeting rooms through the centre is a Kawneer AA3720 Folding/Sliding door also installed with triple glazed glazing for the same visual and acoustic reasons. Uncommon Holborn formerly known as Templar House has been extensively refurbished by STRUCTURETONE LIMITED. The existing façade and frame were retained and sensitively restored to give the 1950’s building another lease of life with a lower carbon footprint and reduced emissions. JPJ Installations Ltd were awarded the fenestration contract with the following Kawneer UK products fabricated and installed: AA720 Windows to the High Holborn façade AA543 Tilt and turn windows to the link floors 1 through to 8 AA100 Curtain walling to the stair cores and both High Holborn and Eagle St shopfronts AA110 Rooflights to the 1st floor atrium meeting spaces AA545 Balcony doors to the link floors 1, 7 & 8 AA190TB Main entrance doors AA3720 Roof terrace bifold doors The project presented many design challenges in achieving the required fenestration values but the Kawneer products exceeded in all parameters. For the High Holborn windows JPJ were asked to replicate the existing 1950’s aluminium multipane horizontal sliders. For this we used our AA720Hi thermally broken window system. The acoustic glass units incorporated integra bars and specially cut powder coated astragal bars bonded to the inside and outside faces of the glass to match. KAWNEER HELPS TO CREATE A NEW SEAT OF HIGH-TECH LEARNING Milton Keynes College Group made the decision to create a purpose-built digital learning centre from existing buildings on its Bletchley Campus. With ambitious targets for the inclusivity and diversity of student intake, the South Central Institute of Technology (SCIoT) was designed to provide high-quality learning environments, providing the latest hi-tech digital equipment and state of the art AI, VR and AR technologies. Designed by GSSArchitecture and built by Ashe Group, the ambitious remodelling and refurbishment project at SCIoT uses a range of Kawneer architectural aluminium glazing solutions, installed by specialist subcontractor JPJ Installations Ltd. Kawneer's AA®100 Curtain Wall System replaced the existing first and second floor screens, while new build elements of the project featured the AA®720 SL Slimline Casement Window that offers slim sightlines to maximise light and maximum vision areas and AA®720 Casement Window offering design flexibility. Two types of Kawneer door solutions were selected. The AA®190 TB Welded Door System was installed on the ground floor, suitable for the high traffic areas of the North and East entrance areas, while the West elevation features the AA®720 Series Door System, a medium-to-heavy entrance door offering versatile door heights and thermal performance. SCIoT is now able to provide an improved technical and digital education offer within a clean modern environment for students and businesses who require additional staff training to meet their needs. After attending the Supply Chain Forum for the Morgan Sindall Construction London & Home Counites division we are delighted to say that we were awarded for our Preconstruction work on the Bedford Passage project with special mention for our collaborative approach to providing VE options and technical assistance. As well as this we were the only Award where Richard Dobson made a special mention to the fact that not only have we excelled on the Bedford Passage project but that this is a common theme for JPJ as a company and the level of service we provide over the years has been fantastic.
