"Fully patched and up to date" no longer means what it did Microsoft are working on fixes. Follow links in article for mitigation. The attack is undetectable as Windows update will report it is "fully up to date" and endpoint protection and response solutions won't block it. The attack forces Windows Update to roll back updates making the system vulnerable to previously patched issues. It is an "invisible" attack. It is not immediately obvious that the machine has been "unpatched".
