It was a pleasure to welcome Blake Stephenson MP for Mid Bedfordshire, to Keech Hospice Care yesterday. With hospices facing ever-growing challenges from rising living costs and reduced funding, it was an important opportunity to show him the vital work we do. 🎉 Celebrating One Year of the Inclusive Health Outreach Service! 🎉 As of November 1, 2023, we are proud to mark one year of supporting Luton’s homeless community living with life-limiting conditions. In just one year, our service has achieved significant milestones: • Over 50 clients assessed for their psychological, social, emotional, and physical needs. • 150+ supportive contacts made with clients, care teams, and caregivers. • 40+ education and training events for healthcare professionals, students, and commissioners. • Ongoing collaboration with partners across primary, secondary, and voluntary sectors. We actively advocate for our clients through multidisciplinary team meetings, and we’re developing pathways to streamline their access to emergency services and hospital care. Our input into national policy highlights the critical need for equality in healthcare for the homeless community. Why is this service so vital? Many in our local homeless community face multiple life-limiting conditions and struggle to find adequate support. Your continued support has been essential in helping us grow and develop this service, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.
