I thoroughly enjoyed the past two days at the 2024 Australia and New Zealand Short Term Rental Association (ASTRA) “Here to Stay” Conference in Brisbane! KeyNest Exhibited our new lockers to short-term rental professionals from companies like MadeComfy, AirKeeper, Alloggio Group, Next Level Asset Management, MaisonNets, Hometime, Canbnb and many more. This being the third annual ASTRA conference, it continues to impress with insightful information on running lean, sustainable, and well-automated short-term rentals. A huge thanks to industry leaders like Julie George, Will Creedon, Quirin Schwaighofer, Stephen Asplin, Yoav Tourel, Andrew Oscari, Bart Sobies 🦾🌍 and Simon Lehmann for sharing their expertise. How did I spend my Sunday? Well there are only 9 days to go until the #event and I'm trying to answer the thousands of emails about last minute requests! Am I nervous? Not yet, basically I've been organising more complicated events in the #cruise industry (you know the #roadshows where the guests list include all the international entrepreneurs, the ones I see you taking pictures with?), where a small mistake would have made billions in negotiations vanish . But the #responsibility that comes with organising a #conference in #vacationrentals - not an expo - is important for two reasons: - you have to find good #content for your type of audience ; - make it clear that this is not a trade fair, and that we are not interested in millions of participants who don't know what to do, but in the quality of #attendees: property managers who want to be more #professional - this year we are raising the bar of difficulties: bringing this event to a city that does not want us (at an Institutional level) in a location practically run by them 😅! How did we do it? A lot of patience and #bureaucracy to be done ….with the associated costs. I have to say that #TeamItaly really did everything in its power to make it through, and don't you think we have never asked ourselves: why are we doing this ?? We were thrilled to be part of the Vacation Rental World Summit! A huge thank you to all the organizers and participants for making this event a memorable success. It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with our partners such as Yaago or Stasher, engage in meaningful conversations, and form exciting new connections within the short-term rental community. One of the key topics this year was #AI, and it was inspiring to see live demos on stage as well as at booths like RentalReady, where we were introduced to their innovative AI assistant, Maia. The energy around these new tech solutions is truly reshaping the industry! Additionally, the ALEP - Associação do Alojamento Local em Portugal received an uplifting video message from the Portuguese prime minister, giving us confidence in the bright future of the market. Looking forward to all that’s to come!
