We were working across the country throughout August making progress on a range of projects. Just a few of our milestones and highlights from the month are listed below. A huge thank you to everyone who has made these achievements possible: ⭐ TIDE Bankside, our net zero carbon, mixed use commercial development on London’s South Bank, has completed. The 12-storey, 145,000 sq. ft building, built for Barings and LBS Properties, provides a mixture of office and retail space and affordable workspace near Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern. ⭐ We were appointed to Southern Water’s £3.1bn, seven-year framework for Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8). We’ll provide strategic planning, design, construction management services and expertise on two lots of the framework, working across both water and wastewater projects. ⭐ The delivery of the Market Pavilion in Blyth moved a step closer with the completion of the steel frame on the project. The new culture venue, being delivered for Northumberland County Council, will provide residents of the town with a new events space for cultural activities and creative learning as well as a café, and a three-screen cinema. ⭐ Our delivery of the A417 Missing Link project for National Highways entered its second year. The scheme will deliver important road safety improvements as well as supporting active travel options like walking and cycling. ⭐ We’ve handed over Bradford’s new market hall, Darley Street Market, to Bradford Council. The development features three trading floors and a terrace balcony, overlooking a 1,000m2 square, which will welcome independent traders, live music, arts and entertainment. ⭐ We celebrated the completion of the A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool. The new three-mile road, another National Highways project, is already resulting in vastly improved journeys by removing a major bottleneck, reducing congestion and increasing road safety around Fleetwood, Lancashire.

July was another busy month for teams across Kier, with project completions, contract wins and public consultations just a few of the highlights. ⭐ We have been appointed by London South East Colleges to redevelop its Greenwich College campus. The new building will provide classrooms, wellbeing spaces, a student welfare area and a learning resource centre. ⭐ Our work on the Etches Park Depot upgrade for East Midlands Railway has now completed, with an extension added to the depot and a new overhead electrical test track built on the site. ⭐ We announced our appointment to support United Utilities with its biggest ever environmental programme. The North West’s water company has proposed a major investment through the Asset Management Programme (AMP) 8 cycle to deliver cleaner rivers, more reliable water supplies and extra support for customers. ⭐ We have officially handed over Arle Court Transport Hub to Gloucestershire County Council this week. The development in Gloucester provides 860 parking spaces, a café, an information desk and a waiting area. ⭐ We broke ground at Northolt High School, where we have been appointed to redevelop a site to accommodate over 1,000 students. The vital redevelopment will bring new facilities to Ealing for teachers, students and local people. ⭐ Our joint venture with Mole Valley District Council kicked off its public consultation on proposals for the Swan Centre and Bull Hill in Leatherhead. The team held four in-person events in July to give people the chance to meet the team and give feedback on proposals. The consultation will continue until 16 September, and is still open for feedback via this link: kier.uk/4frnF7x A huge thank you to everyone involved in these projects, and all those who continue to support us and our work!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted as a top 100 apprenticeship employer, not once, but twice! 🏅   We were listed at 67th place out of 100 in the top apprenticeship employers' list, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service on behalf of the Department for Education. Over 800 companies submitted entries and this result reflects the excellent work our teams undertake to provide our apprentices with the best possible opportunities and experience to learn and earn.   Not only this, but we have also moved up to 87th place in the top 100 apprenticeship employers' list for RateMyApprenticeship too – another fantastic achievement!   We’re incredibly proud to be included in both of these lists, and it is testament to the work being done by our amazing apprentices, their managers and our emerging talent team. 🎉👏 #topAppEmployers

🎉 It's our one-year anniversary supporting The Trussell Trust! 🎉 Thanks to hundreds of Kier colleagues who voted for our corporate charity partner last year, as we embarked on this incredible journey. Across our sites, offices, and depots, we've come together to make a significant impact by raising money and providing essential items for local food banks. Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished in the past year: 🌟Raised £125,000 through initiatives like Moving through May, climbing the Three Peaks, bake sales, and even abseiling off the Forum in Gloucester. 🌟Volunteered at food banks including Sparkhill in Birmingham, Cambridge city centre, Greenwich, and more. 🌟Supported the relocation of Hackney and Epping Forest food banks into new premises through pro bono work. We’re eager to continue making a difference, and year two promises even more excitement. Today, we’re celebrating the incredible efforts of our people and look forward to achieving even greater things together! 🌟 #TrussellTrust #joinkier #builtbybrilliantpeople
