At kinderzimmer Chelmsford the babies have loved exploring outdoors recently. The team have been focussing on development of gross motor skills and created an obstacle course using different types of equipment such as blocks, ramps and hoops. With encouragement and support, the children practiced moving through the course by walking, crawling, and climbing, showing growing confidence in navigating inclines and declines. Activities that promote gross motor skill development are important in early years as they help to build strength, muscle development and co-ordination. At kinderzimmer, we believe that celebrating religious festivals is a wonderful way to support your child’s development while introducing them to the rich diversity of the world around them. From Christmas and Hanukkah to Divali and Bandi Chhor Divas, we create opportunities for children to explore different traditions in fun and engaging ways. Here's a few key reasons why we do this. With Holi celebrations in full swing, it’s the perfect time to introduce your children to this vibrant festival of colours, love, and renewal! At kinderzimmer, we have been teaching the children about Holi through fun activities like reading stories, talking about the importance of joy and togetherness, and creating colourful artwork to celebrate the festival’s spirit!

Our preschoolers at Muswell Hill have been very interested by reptiles - especially since our Head of Nursery has pet snakes! 🐍 Last week, they had an exciting hands-on experience, touching real snake skin and seeing photos of the snake before it shed. Through engaging discussions, they learned all about snake care, from setting up a vivarium with warm and cool zones to understanding their diet, their likes and dislikes, and the fascinating shedding process. To bring their learning to life, the children then painted their own colourful snakes! 🎨

At kinderzimmer Sunbury-on-Thames, the preschool children have been exploring different modes of transport ✈️ 🚗 🚆 This interest was sparked by a conversation with several children who are getting ready for their holidays. We talked about various destinations we could visit and the types of transport we might use to get there. This led to a variety of activities, such as making tickets, creating an airplane with chairs, discussing what they might see out of the window and reading stories about planes. The children have demonstrated excellent imaginative skills, language use, teamwork with their peers, and fine motor skills while making their tickets 🎫 Find out more about kinderzimmer Sunbury-on-Thames here: https://lnkd.in/eu7F3DV4 🌟

Last week our nurseries celebrated World Book Day! Our children and educators had the chance to dress up as their favourite literary characters and celebrate the wonder that books bring to our lives. Reading is very prominent at kinderzimmer, we believe it empowers children to think for themselves, sparks wonder through imaginative stories, and inspires them to discover the world around them!

The toddlers at kinderzimmer Chelmsford have been thoroughly enjoying baking sessions in our St. John’s Kitchen. They chose to make granola, (a breakfast favourite!!) and every child actively joined in by measuring ingredients and following the recipe card step by step 🧑🍳 Baking activities in Early Years promote a variety of developmental skills such as fine motor skills, counting, measuring, and understand sequencing. Socials skills are also promoted through turn taking and listening in a small group. The children get to use all their senses in baking activities and are always very excited to enjoy their granola at breakfast time! 😁 Find out more about kinderzimmer Chelmsford here: https://lnkd.in/eJG86hNw 🌟
