Last week I had the privilege of attending the Global Student Living Live Conference and awards dinner, and boy it was an experience to remember 🤵🏼♂️ It was fantastic to reconnect with old friends from my time at Yugo and This is Fresh, meet some of Kinetic’s wonderful clients in person for the first time, and to forge new connections across the student housing sector (as well as my now weekly check in with Gareth Duffin 😅) The awards dinner was truly one of the most spectacular events I've ever had the pleasure of attending. It was an honour to be part of such a memorable evening. Congratulations to all those who won and were nominated for an award! 🎉🏆 Before the festivities, the conference itself offered invaluable insights. I had the opportunity to attend sessions on key topics like neurodiversity, sustainability, and a particularly powerful session on women in the industry, led by the incredible Sorrel Basher and Suraiya Comunello. Coming just after the CUBO Living Black at University Conference at the University of Kent, it was great to once again see some big voices from our industry coming together to discuss progressive topics that aim to make a meaningful difference for our students and those who work on their behalf. It’s amazing to think that I’ll be speaking at so many conferences… I’ve always struggled with impostor syndrome and used to get extremely nervous.
