As we prepare to launch our Earth Unwrapped season, we're thrilled to have received funding from Islington Council to help green our stage lighting system. By next summer, we hope this project will permanently wipe more than three tonnes of carbon from our annual emissions - equivalent to about 7,500 miles in a petrol car ♻️ 📷 by Monika S Jakubowska of Arooj Aftab (who has just headlined the Roundhouse as part of Pitchfork Festival London) when she performed in Hall One in 2022.
About us
Kings Place is an open, multi-arts venue, presenting an adventurous and critically-acclaimed programme, with words and music at its heart. Every year we curate a series of festivals to engage a breadth of different communities. We are a place where many audiences belong, a place where people connect with their passion and no-one is lost in the crowd. Kings Place was developed from a generous act of philanthropy. Driven by a belief that arts and culture are a fundamental part of a thriving city – our work is as vibrant as our location in King’s Cross. We are independently-funded and generate income through ticket sales and the staging of world-class conferences and events. We are rooted in partnership and have developed a collaborative community of resident partners and artistic associates. By opening our doors, people and creativity can flourish. We provide stages for artists, space for local communities and young musicians, share our home with partners, and offer audiences unforgettable, shared experiences. We are Kings Place, the cultural pulse of King’s Cross.

📢 Help us share the transformative power of live music today. Kings Place Music Foundation are proud to introduce our Community Club, our new initiative partnering with organisations across Islington and Camden to offer exciting opportunities for local people to participate in our work. Despite the incredible changes seen around King’s Cross in recent years, we know that financial barriers and lack of knowledge are a huge factor excluding local people from enjoying cultural activities. Through the Community Club, we will give away up to 500 free tickets to youth programmes, families in need, older people and more, who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity. Giving away free tickets is part of a wider plan for the Community Club and with your support, we can offer even more engagement opportunities for people living across Islington and Camden. But we can’t do this alone. We need your help to get the scheme off the ground. Join us in making a difference today: 1️⃣ £25 is enough to support an older person to see one of our world-class concerts for free 2️⃣ £100 could ensure a family of four can take part in our child-friendly performances 3️⃣ £500 might inspire the next generation of young musicians with an after-school booking You can donate £5 by texting COMMUNITYCLUB to 70085 or donate online via the link: https://lnkd.in/d_58kem7

For one night only The Ancients podcast went LIVE 💥 🎤 Tristan Hughes took History Hit’s award winning The Ancients podcast to the London Podcast Festival at Kings Place for its first ever live recording. Deep diving into the past with Tristan for the evening was special guest Lloyd Llewellyn Jones, professor of ancient history. This sold-out event showcases the incredible demand for engaging, educational content, and is a testament to our team's hard work in building the podcast's profile within the industry. We're proud to see it resonate with such a dedicated audience, and couldn't be more excited to have connected with our listeners in person! https://lnkd.in/e6Y74GDe #londonpodcastfestival #podcast #liveshow #event #network #history
