This year's King's Entrepreneurship Lab Residential Cohort comes from a wide range of academic disciplines and includes both undergraduate, Masters and PhD students. What different perspectives might come from those who study in fields as varied as film, medicine, education or engineering? And what commonalities might students find they actually share? Do we need to 'change' mindsets or 'connect' mindsets when it comes to entrepreneurship? Or both? I'm looking forward to seeing the collaborations that come out of the week and working throughout the year to explore these kinds of questions! King's College, Cambridge | University of Cambridge

Here's a little something to brighten up your Monday 🐦 For the last few months Trinity Hall student Jamie Clarkson, PhD (Engineering) has been working on a project to photograph the kingfishers that live on the river between King’s and Clare College and has been patiently waiting on the river banks to see them perch on a fence or a branch of a willow tree. In April the breeding season began (with Jamie spotting only the male kingfisher around while the female was incubating the eggs) and at the end of June the Clare College Gardeners heard chick noises coming from the nest! By mid-August the young chicks were spotted at the Mill pond and gradually dispersed along the river. We hope that the adults return to our riverbank next Spring! Thank you to Jamie for these incredible images. 📷 Jamie Clarkson University of Cambridge #WildlifePhotography #Kingfisher #NatureLovers #BirdWatching #NaturePhotography #CambridgeWildlife University of Cambridge #KingsWildlife

Good morning from King's College, Cambridge. Most people take a photo of the famous King’s Chapel when they visit us, but if they turn slightly right, they would be able to see Alan Turing’s room! Did you know that Alan Turing came up to King’s in October 1931. He received a First in Part II of the Mathematical Tripos in 1934 and was made a Fellow in 1935 for his work ‘On the Gaussian Error Function’. He remained a non-resident Fellow of the College until 1952. The brilliant economist John Maynard Keynes was a King's Fellow during Turing's time here, and was a member of the Electors to Fellowships Committee. He wrote to his wife Lydia on 11 March 1935 'I had to lunch today the Fellowship candidate who seems much the cleverest on paper ... He is excellent – there cannot be a shadow of doubt ... Turing his name’ (see full text of the letter here: https://lnkd.in/eh3aUsbm) University of Cambridge
