  • If you’re an employer, then you need to read this!! These are changes in UK employment law that are set to shape the workplace in ways that both protect workers and challenge employers to adapt. Here are some key developments: 1. Day-One Unfair Dismissal Protection: Previously, employees needed two years' service to claim unfair dismissal, however, soon they'll have this protection from their very first day. This means employers must ensure a fair and thorough process even during the probation period, adding new layers of care to onboarding. 2. Flexible Working Revolution: From April 2024, employees can request flexible working on day one of employment, and employers must respond within two months. If rejected, employers must clearly explain why, which makes transparency crucial. . 3. Fire and Re-Hire Crackdown: New legislation makes it unlawful to fire and rehire employees to force contract changes. This marks the end of a tactic used by some businesses to adjust terms and conditions, pushing employers towards more negotiation. 4. Carer’s Leave: Employees with caregiving responsibilities will now be entitled to a week of unpaid leave each year from day one of employment. This change will encourage workplaces to better support those balancing work and personal care duties. 5. Stronger Redundancy Protections for New Parents: Protections for pregnant employees and new parents will extend for up to 18 months after the birth or adoption of a child. This gives parents a much longer safety net against redundancy, ensuring they're prioritised for alternative roles if necessary. 6. Tougher Stance on Sexual Harassment: Employers will need to take “all reasonable steps” to prevent harassment, with new legal duties coming in this month. This includes liability for harassment by third parties such as clients and customers. These upcoming changes emphasise the importance of fair, flexible and inclusive work environments. Have you carefully reviewed your policies and contracts to stay ahead of these new legal requirements? #employmentlaw #employeerights #recruitmentadvice #HRadvice

  • Why Cultural Fit is Key to Hiring Top Sales Talent 🤝✨ When it comes to building a high-performing sales team, skills and experience are only half the equation. The right cultural fit can make or break a salesperson's long-term success at your company. Here's why cultural fit matters: 1. • When asked to present to a prospect, do you know the answers to these questions before you turn up:  Who are you presenting to?  What do you know about them?  Why are you being asked to present?  What is their need/issue?  What are they hoping to achieve? It is easy to get excited by the opportunity to present and to focus on delivering a presentation selling your company and product/service. However, it is so important to do some 'discovery' work beforehand in order to build good relationships and understand the complete picture. #sales #salestipsandtricks #salespresentation #salesmeeting #opportunity

  • Quick tips on how to position yourself as a trusted advisor in your industry and gain more sales: Prospects need to see you as an expert in your field and someone that they can trust and rely upon to serve them well. This will help to build long-term and loyal business relationships; and ultimately more sales. Here are a few ways in which you can do this: 1. Maintain industry expertise: keep up to date with market trends, regulatory changes and certifications/qualifications, commit to personal development. 2. Have a client-centric approach: you need to fully understand your client’s needs and their pain points and speak to these in your content. 3. Build long-term relationships: show genuine interest and care in supporting your client to achieve the best results, avoid seemingly just wanting a ‘quick win’. 4. Share industry knowledge: share articles, case studies, ‘how-to’ videos that will help your clients. 5. Have strong ethical standards: demonstrate honesty and transparency throughout your interactions with clients and protect confidentiality where appropriate. 6. Follow-up and take accountability: maintain communications with clients and own any errors and rectify them as quickly as possible. Would anyone add anything else?
