A bold £107bn vision for London’s future has just been unveiled — and the Knowledge Quarter is proud to be a key part of it. The Mayor’s vision for inclusive growth and positioning frontier innovation as London’s 'new superpower,' particularly in life sciences, AI, and green technology is fundamentally aligned with what we stand for in the Knowledge Quarter. From groundbreaking cancer and dementia treatments and advancements in quantum technologies to amazing community initiatives, like Camden STEAM (equipping young people with skills for STEAM careers) and the LIFT futures programme (creating tech, creative, and science opportunities for local people) — we’re collectively shaping a future that benefits all Londoners. As Dr Michael Spence, President & Provost at UCL, puts it: "Within ten minutes of our Bloomsbury campus, one of the world’s largest and most collaborative innovation districts is taking shape in the Knowledge Quarter, with huge potential to bring together life sciences, technology, healthcare, and academia in one place." ➡️ Swipe to see how we're uniquely positioned as a strategic area to drive this growth. 🚀 Read the full London Growth Plan here: https://lnkd.in/ewfxzUGh #LondonIsOpen #LondonGrowthPlan #London Mayor of London Greater London Authority London & Partners

📚 New £1.1bn British Library extension confirmed: A landmark development in the KQ landscape and also a game-changer for our local community. Here’s what excites us most about the expansion at the KQ: ✨ £23 million dedicated to affordable housing in the area. ✨ New skills, jobs, and career opportunities, especially for Camden’s young people and local residents. ✨ Affordable workspaces with 10% free to use for Camden residents. ✨ Major public realm upgrades: new routes connecting Somers Town & St Pancras, more cycle docking stations and cycle highways. ✨ A brand-new community garden on Ossulston Street, co-designed and managed by locals. This is a crucial investment in people, places, and new possibilities for knowledge-sharing in the KQ. 👇 Which part of this project do you think will have the biggest community impact?
We’re delighted to announced that Mitsui Fudosan UK has confirmed its commitment to develop The British Library Extension. Stanhope will be acting as development manager for this significant project designed by RSHP and Arup. The scheme in Camden will create around 100,000 sq ft of new Library spaces for culture, learning, research and business including expanded galleries and business support facilities. Along with the new Library spaces, some 600,000 sq ft of commercial space will also be included, designed for scientific businesses seeking to locate close to The Francis Crick Institute and the rich mix of other organisations located in London’s Knowledge Quarter. #lifescience #knowledgeclusters #innovation #KingsCross https://lnkd.in/eQYdaCpq
