KwickScreen is the pioneer of a new form of portable screen which creates private, Covid-secure space for patients, anywhere and anytime. Our screens are designed to be highly flexible and portable, so they can be deployed (and then re-deployed) in seconds as demand for capacity changes. A startling call to action—every 11 seconds, someone in the USA gets an antibiotic resistant infection. The Fleming Initiative are in New York this week for the United Nations General Assembly to address the growing crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Without decisive action, drug-resistant infections could claim over 10 million lives annually by 2050. One often-overlooked source of hospital-acquired infections? Cubicle curtains. These curtains can harbour dangerous pathogens, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria like MRSA. Shockingly, U.S. hospitals often only replace these curtains when they become visibly dirty, leaving them hanging for up to a year. To combat AMR we must focus on developing novel therapeutics strategies, improving diagnostics and preventing bacterial spread in healthcare settings. Actions taken now will ultimately determine how many lives are saved in the future. #antibioticresistance #AMR #curtainsforcurtains
