Introducing new agricultural products is always challenging, but it's made easier with the support of passionate growers like Langmead Herbs and New Farm Produce Ltd Their enthusiasm and professionalism during our first major field trials have been incredible. Getting into the field was a significant milestone for Lambda agri, providing us with invaluable insights on how we drive increases in crop yields. Just like our growers, we are now counting down the weeks to the next growing season.

We couldn't have put it better ourselves!
Did you know there’s a spray paint that can increase photosynthesis? 💡 Greenhouses often rely on artificial lighting to increase productivity. But this causes two challenges: super high energy costs that can be unaffordable for small growers, and increased carbon emissions. Lambda agri, a UK-based startup, is using photochemistry to improve agricultural sustainability by developing a spray paint that converts unused sunlight into light used for photosynthesis. Their innovation has led to increased food production without the need for additional electricity. Lambda is an example of science meeting sustainable innovation. They participated in our Greentech Europe 2024 programme. Read more at the link https://bit.ly/3WTBqV7 Our Greentech Europe initiative also tackles two big challenges: enabling the green transition across all sectors in Europe,*and* working on tackling that inequality by supporting diverse-led startups.

We're playing in the BIG field! Last autumn, we were awarded a £500k Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) grant to develop our next-generation material, that converted more of the UV into useful red light for plant growth, and undertake 4 major trials A/B trials on tomatoes 🍅, strawberries 🍓, coriander 🌱& mint 🌿 over a c. 2000 m2 area. Last Friday, we completed the final installation a 90m strawberry tunnel, spray coated with our latest active paint. It is incredible how much we have come on since the start of the year, thanks to a consortium made in heaven. 99s to explain what you do, the why, where you're going and your traction is hard, but Lambda agri has simmered its message to the bare bones, and the audience? Resonated. We are grateful for the award from the Founders Live CEO Nick Hughes, UHY Hacker Young (East) and Mills & Reeve, it was an honor! If you'd like to know more about how we can help bring a more sustainable food supply system and beat climate change whilst saving greenhouse growers significant capital each year, please don't hesitate to touch-base, we're here to listen back, too.
Another great evening hosting Founders Live Cambridge! Thank you to Mills & Reeve for hosting the event again at their fantastic offices overlooking the city.
