The Brecon Adventure Triathlon (BAT), our next charity fundraising challenge, is taking place on Thursday 10th April in support of our 2025 corporate charity, Alzheimer's Society. A spreadsheet only gets you so far The other day I was speaking to the happy managing director of a retail company for whom we recently found a brilliant new industrial building. It was exactly what she’d been hoping to find, she said – in the right place and at the right time for the growing business. We’ve been working for this client for years, so she knew it wasn’t just luck. And I thought it was worth sharing how we made it all happen. Like many occupiers, she is navigating ever-changing cost margins, disrupted supply chains, and a fast-shifting regulatory and business landscape. This brings opportunities – but there are challenges too. Where can she find the right location at the right price? How can her company have the flexibility to evolve her business and expand? How can she ensure it meets sustainability goals and attracts the best talent? To help her balance – and deliver on – these sometimes competing needs, a lot goes on behind the scenes. And of course the main ingredient for finding her the property she needs is not data, spreadsheets, or the CRM. Of course, we need those things – they are foundational. But what really makes it happen is people. Specifically, people who talk to each other and who feel empowered to think unconventionally. People with imagination and dynamism, who ask: ‘What if…?’ Our team found the perfect solution for our client because they get together and communicate across regions, sectors and services.
