Vision and views promised at Swedish TSA conference in May SCANDINAVIA The annual meeting of the Swedish Textile Services Association (Sveriges Tvatteriforbund) https://lnkd.in/eZH26DDs will take place on 16 May at the Quality Hotel View in Malmo, Sweden in the exciting new district of the city, Hyllie, connecting the city with the countryside. The hotel is walking or running distance from Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport – or the first stop on the Oresund train as those who have taken part in the Øresund Bridge Race will know. Hylle, an environmentally smart area of the city, is an apt choice to hold an event for an Association representing an industry which is at the forefront of finding and utilising sustainable operational solutions. Can the Association meeting fill the excitement void left by the city staging the Eurovision song contest at the nearby Malmo Arena the week before? The committee certainly hopes so. There should be plenty of Euro vision to be had at the event, albeit on textile care issues rather than pop songs. Spring is sprung. Hooray!!! Not that you can tell by the weather here in the UK, but TSA Spring Conference is on the horizon and that is a sure sign. Like daffodils, it comes around every year at this time. We also see that Jensen-Group has had a record-breaking year and that TRSA has appointed new auditors for its Hygienically Clean and Clean Green programmes. Inspiration and motivation is provided by Worshipful Company of Launderer's guest speaker Dr Vikas Shah.

TSA CONGRESS 2024: CHANGING FOR THE BETTER The Textile Services Association (TSA) 2024 National Congress, 1 February at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, got under way with the The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor, Mary Rasmussen, opening proceedings. Charlie Betteridge, TSA chair, welcomed what amounts to a veritable ‘Who’s Who?’ of the top echelons of the laundry industry in the UK. “We have the format right seeing so many here. “Everybody is here,” he said. “All the key decision makers. “I don’t think anyone would argue it has not been easy for the past few years. Life before was too easy. It was very good to us. The economy was being pumped up. We put up prices 1-2%. Profitability was up. We used more electricity, more hot water. “Then it all changed: We have suffered the effects of Brexit, Covid, the Ukraine, war. For the first time we faced uncertainty. Everything was going wrong and we had to think on our feet. Last year was much better. Things were getting better.” Pictured: left to right, Emma Andersson, TSA; David Stephens, TSA; The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Mary Rasmussen, and; Charles Betteridge, TSA Read more here https://lnkd.in/eYmKFdGh #linenrental #commerciallaundry #healthcarelaundry #textilecare Keep up with the latest textile care news at https://lnkd.in/dnNEYE9
