Happy Friday! What a sad week it’s been for any lovers of One Direction. Extremely sad to hear of the passing of Liam Payne. I wasn’t a massive 1D fan myself but I was a fan of the Xfactor and a fan of Cheryl, the mother to Bear, Liam’s son. So, like most people I feel like I’ve known Liam as a star since he was a young teen. It’s lovely to see the love being shared for Liam by his band mates and people who knew him. A video I watched from Harry Styles from a few years ago with Zane Lowe, hit hard this morning. Harry said: "Every single person does it who's ever lost a friend. Whether you're close to them or not, I think everyone has that thing of like, 'I wish I had just asked one more time if they're okay. If there's any positive thing that could possibly come out of that, it's that now the conversations that I have with friends about that stuff is way different." And I am sure Harry has that feeling once again. Grief is such a strange emotion. And grief with guilt is the worst. Liam Payne situation feels similar to me somehow to the passing of Caroline Flack. Unfair and unkind. And, what Tom and I always quote (we even have a photo in our kitchen with it) “If you can be anything in this world, be kind” and as Harry Styles sings “Treat people with kindness”. One of the main catalyst to setting up Lavandi with Andy was a few months before we set up Lavandi my best friend took his own life, a day after we had lunch together and a week after we had been to Blackpool to watch Britney Spears live. At Britney, Steve DC was in the best form he had EVER been but the very last time I saw him he didn’t look well at all and I knew something was up but I had to rush back to my old job. I remember leaving him at the table and I went to settle our bill, when I looked back at him he looked lost and sad. So, that Harry styles video from years ago about losing a friend and saying 'I wish I had just asked one more time if they're okay’ hit hard this morning. Plus, reading Liam’s friend’s reactions on social media brings back some sad memories from one of the saddest periods of my life. The Laverty Family is expanding 🍼🐯🐥 Tom Senior and I are already the proud uncles to 2 nephews and 2 nieces. Toms brother and his partner had a little boy called Rupert 🧸 only a few weeks ago. We have spent some time with him last week and he’s adorable! We love him so much already. 🩵 Now, I am very proud to be able to say that my amazing sisters have found out they are BOTH pregnant for the first time and only 4 weeks apart (something Dad would of loved as both sisters have struggled). Kerry is expecting a boy and Shannon is expecting a girl!
